ftp site has too many files

is there a utility that will compare current auction pics with ftp inventory? I have found that there are old auction pictures taking up space on my ftp site and it takes quite a bit of time comparing what is on the site to what auctions are currently running.

Hi,

It sounds as if your FTP space is out of sync with AW2K. an the old images are not being removed according to the settings you selected in AW2000.

Dates of each image file is accessible using a FTP program such as WS_FTP or something similar. You can look at all the images, select at what you want to delete and them remove them.

how would it get back in sync? I have an ftp program however it is quite time consuming to compare active auctions with the files on the ftp site. I dont suppose getting 'in sync' will solve the issues of the past just the future?

HI,

does your FTP program allow for you to see the file extensions and date as well? Some FTP providers allow for you to access the images by logging into your account and navigating to the AW2K directory. Then you can easily see the dates.

And yes, putting the FTP account in sync with AW2K will correct future issues, just not past. Usually, FTP accounts get out of sync because of aborting an upload prior to the datestamp being uploaded. There are other causes but that is the most common.

Putting the FTP account back into sync will be more time effective than simply deleting the few old images as the sync problem still exists.

I will be happy to help you with re-synchronizing the FTP account . Just shoot me off an email and I can send you the instructions.
