Hi, was just creating some listings from inventory items and now there is no description field on the auctions tab! I resized the description box (with the mouse) over to the left side so it was out of site while I added / edited pictures, when I went to slide it back it will not budge! I hope your understanding what I mean, I collasped the description area all the way (resized it to nothing) then added my pictures edited them, then went to resize the description box so I could preview the listing and it is stuck over there to the left, how the hec do I get it back? Any one else ever had this problem?
Any help is appreciated!
Note: the items tab still has the description area in it. I went in & created a new item for a test, entered a description, then created a listing but there is no descrion area in the new item either, and all my online listings I can't access the description on the auctions tab as it is out of site way over to the left.

I am presuming you tried putting your mouse over the line on the left edge until the arrows appear, hold down left click and drag. And that does not work. correct?

As you know that drag bar should work. So that probably is an indication there is something else up going on... Have you restarted your computer? And then attempted to drag the resize bar?

Hi Judy, yes, when placing the mouse over the edge and pressing the button it does go to the two little opposing arrows but just wont drag.
I tried restarting computer, nada, I tried rebuilding database (tho I didnt think that would do anything, just wishful thinking) and I am stumped!

Another thought, when I had the description area hidden I was working on photos, adding them then editing them. It was from my new camera and they were large (1024x1024) when importing them, then I resized them in the editor. I ended up with about 14 pictures on the listing maybe I 'overworked' it? I hope not!

Go to File > Program options.
ON the General tab, change the side the buttons appear on from the right to the left. Click OK

See if that will push the dragbar pane over far enough that you can grap it and drag it over..

just gave that a try but didnt work, even when they are on the right (the buttons) I can 'grab' the line, it just doesnt move. On the email tab of the auction lots there is another 'slider' that moves up & down, I can drag that one ok, just not the one between description and images.

That many images would not cause the problem. No worries on that Although it does make you wonder!

And you restarted the computer as well?

How old is this computer? Have you been having any other issues like browsers not showing all the way? Or other programs not centering in the monitor etc?

Have you ran a windows update today?

Hi Judy, No I haven't had any other problems really, and I run xp pro with updates set for automatic, not sure if it updated today. Maybe I should give windows manual update a try?

I notice on the items tab you can only drag the divider just so far either way, but on the auction lots tab it slid ALL the way over.

It won't hurt to run an automatic update. But I doubt it is related to an update. If windows had updated today then we could wonder if something had gone haywire and uninstall the update. But I don't think an update is related.

The drag bar on the Inventory items does not go all the way over. Auction lots description field drag bar will drag all the way over.

I cannot reproduce the problem. I am so sorry. I think contacting tech support might be in order.

Judy, do you know how long it usually is before support replies?
I was wondering if uninstalling then reinstalling my software, then restore to my latest back up would cure the problem?
I'm really in a bind here, I have really become dependent on this software!
The eBay side I can list manually (todays another one of those 50% off deals) but I have been using this to create listings for gunbroker, then preview the listing, grab the html and go that way. Have all my listings done for the current sale but no way to preview except from the auction lot description window!
Is there any other way you know of to preview a lot, maybe a key combination?
Any help appreciated!

Hello again, after posting I was thinking, I 'should' be able to open the template manager, go to my gunbroker template, select 'edit', then preview that and select the listing i want to do as the preview listing? Am I correct in assuming this should be the same html as previewing the auction lot?

Well I tried the work-around and it is possible! :)

just a pain in the butt if any changes need to be made, I have to delete the auction lot, then make the changes in the inventory item description, create a new auction lot and preview it again from the template manager, however it is a work around to this problem until they can get it resolved, and all the deleteing, recreating and previewing sure makes one appreciate accuracy the first time around! lol

I am quite hesitant about uninstalling anything, especially before I hear back from support! :)

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know I received an email from support with directions to correct my issue, works like a charm now! :)

apparently my computer had a 'hic-up' while auction wizard was running as well as to many other programs. Time to go shopping I'm thinking!

Just wanted to say thankyou Judy for all your help, the support alone for auction wizard makes it worth its weight in gold!

I was afraid the computer was the issue. And started to suggest that last night but decided I better let support wade through it... I had a computer have a very similar issue and it was related to the integrated video going out. A new video card fixed it.

Let us know what kind of computer you get! And remember you can move AW2000 complete with settings to a new computer. So email before you start swamping out as there is an easy way to move AW2000 to a new computer

Have fun computer shopping! I love to go looking at new computers I know I am weird.
