I emailed Thom regarding this issue. He told me to do the following, and it worked for me. I don't know if it will work for anyone else, but it's worth a try:

1. Go to File, Advanced Internet Settings
2. Check the box marked "Use WinInet API"
3. Close AW2K and restart.

As I said, this may not work for everyone, but it did work for me.

Same error messages here. Been waiting for an update since last night to fix the problem.

Ah that fix works. It seems enough people are having the problem so that an email update might be worth sending out.

I sure am happy that we have this message board. I got the email about the fix but when I did it I was still having problems. I wrote Thom and kicked back waiting for an answer. Then I come here and find out that you have shut AW down and restart it, then it will work....well, blow me down if that didn't work!! Thank guys...now to email Thom and confess to being clueless.

Thank youl! That solved the problem for me as well. The odd thing about the error message is that it only occurred when updating one of five auctions that I have the close tomorrow - always the same auction.

Changing the Internet setting worked for me also. Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!

Hello All,
This fix does NOT work for everyone. I've tried changing that Advanced setting and then shutting down and restarting and it doesn't work.
I've emailed Thom twice for help but I'm not getting an answer. Anyone else tried anything else that has worked?

I'm not a techie, but I find it strange that the fix works for some and not for others. I'm wondering if IE settings can affect whether the problem disappears. Have a look at this setting if you use Internet Explorer:

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced

In the "Security" section, make sure that "Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode" is unchecked.
