Making thumbnails enlarge?

Is there a way to make your pictures enlarge when you click on them with your mouse?

Akita7,

Are you talking about after you list? And the images are within the Auction template. When the viewer moves their mouse over the image, they can click to enlarge?

If so, that is not an option. Images are uploaded by AW2K in accordance to eBay's rules for image size which is 300 x 300. Are your images smaller than that?

Yes, after you list. I guess there is not a way to enlarge photos witha click of the mouse. I guess I don't really need to. They seem to be big enough already. Do you AW2K will support this feature in the future?

Akita7,

I know the suggestion is on the "suggestion list" But I will forward your comment to AW2000 tech.

I think you will find allowing AW2K to upload images using the Resize image default of 300 x 300, the images will be large enough. If the images were really small the enlarge would be necessary. But I found what you have, the images are displayed quite nicely within the Listing templates.

Re: Making thumbnails enlarge? new [re: akita7]

you can create your own version of this by modifying any of the myriad of "image gallery" html scripts out there. You simply need to integrate them with data fields available to you when using pure HTML descriptions.

Just find a script that shows a layout you pretty much like then read in the Aw2k help file how to use pure HTML descriptions. Modify the script to use the image fields. for the thumbnails.

This is a completely inelegant solution and not a true thumbnail/full size image system but it works and gives the illusion of a gallery.

I have considered writing a scrip that makes use of the thumbnails created when uploading to my website as they thumbs image in the auctions script. Then pointing to the image from the link for the pic...but it gets kinda fuzzy here and there...worth a longer look someday when I have the time.

BTW, if none of this makes no sense to anyone then this is not an approach for you and you need a built-in tool. It involves some custom coding on an elementary level but still it's coding...but if you are at all handy with HTML you can easily absorb the javascript needed to make this work. I actually have a gallery tool done it is just making the links to the file names I need to spend a couple hours getting refined...if we can get them at all.

Anyway, it is doable if you do some grunt work yourself...the file name issue is the largest hurdle.

Although this thread seems dead, maybe others like me will stumble upon it for ideas.

At any rate...here is what I've come up with:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120409491532

Pretty slick and all tools were available online..free of charge.

The file name issue was the largest hurdle, but a tiny little mod to the php file made it all happen.... :D

To generate thumbnails use:;

http://www.les-stooges.org/pascal/webdesign/vignettes/index.php?la=en

To make them enlarge when you click them use:

http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex4/thumbnail.htm

I had to edit a line in the PHP to accept and modify AW2K's filenaming scheme.

I also had to edit a line in the javascript so that eBay would accept it as they are very persnickety about what they allow and what they don't.

If you want more details about how I got it all to work, let me know.

Anybody else notice that Gallery Plus is now free - and is being included in AW2K listings?

I didn't change anything - but now all my listing have that "enlarge picture" option from the ebay list screen, as well as within the auction itself.
