Asterisk in Update Results
|
|
|
Sometimes when I update my eBay auctions or Store items, there is an asterisk next to one of the prices. Does this just indicate the Lot was too new to be updated? Last night, the asterisk was next to the $0.00 for a lot I had just listed (time left: 6 days 23 hours).
I have a screenshot if anyone needs to see what I'm talking about.

I think I can answer my own question. I bet the star indicates the Lot has a Reserve Price on it. Yes?

Sue,
Are you referring to the "Status of all online Auctions" dialog box? The price contains an asterick in place of the Item price?

Yes.

Not instead of; next to. I've attached the screenshot.

Sue,
I am still not quite tracking with you. The "Attachment" displays a webpage error.

Sue,
Whew! I thought something was up with my ISP
Hummmm,, I will have to double check and see what the asterick is for. I do not remember off the top of my head. I will check and let you know.

Sue: As far as I understand it is an auction without any bids and it also has a reserve (not met). If it had a number and the * then it would be a reserve auction with bid but reserve not met. I may be wrong on this but when I've seen it in my auctions that is what it has turned out to be.

Hi Garry,
Yeah, that's what I figured. I belatedly looked at which Lot is was for and realized it's the only one I've got with a Reserve.
Thanks, Sue

Garry,
Without digging through my notes, I think that is correct. Since I do not use Reserve prices. or should say rarely use Reserve pricing, the asterick naturally never appears when I update.
Boy howdy, thanks for posting. Now I won't have to dig through my files
