Smart quotes vs regular quotes

Every now and then when I'm writing a description, my fingers must inadvertently hit some key or other, and I start getting smart quotes (curly, slanted toward the text). These don't show up in Preview or on eBay (so no way to know if dimensions are inches or feet). My default font is Maiandra GD, if that's pertinent). It happened last night, and the only way I could get rid of it was to copy my text to Notepad and then copy it back to AW.

What's the trick to getting AW to revert to dumb quotes? I tried Ctrl+ and Alt+ and so on.

Thanks, Sue

Sue,

Is it Italic font?

check the text editor tools and see if the "italics" icon is active. If you hit "Ctrl+I" it activates it so all the font changes to italics.
