Warning: "Your Item Specifics have been converted"
|
|
|
I check for program updates daily, so I'm assuming the category list is as up to date as is feasible (not practical to check more often than once a day!). Yet, every time I submit listings, I get numerous warnings that say, "Category XXXXX uses a different Item Specifics format. Your Item Specifics have been converted the the new format." Why do I get these Listing Errors and Warnings?
By the way, sometimes the warnings are just text; other times, they are a full page of HTML code that makes it hard to zero in on the actual message.

eBay has made some significant changes to Item specifics. Although I do not know for sure, I suspect some of the changes are to re-align them so the Item specifics can be applied to applicable Google Base attributes. Not sure but that is what I suspect.
Anyway, Anything in AW2K that is not in the new item specific format is converted for you when you list.

best and only option to this really frustrating message is to make checking for updates the final step before a listing session. If there are new categories then update and go over every listing to make sure none of the IS have changed.
It sucks but this is an eBay bunch of BS because of their constantly moving target and an attempt to push EVERYONE into using their subscription based listing tools.
The other option is to just list then go over each and every listing to check for changes.
I am lucky, I don't sell a lot of items and I still run into this now and then.

Hi
The warning about the Item specifics is related to the formatting of the Item specifics. Not that the Item specifics has necessarily changed.
eBay has changed the way Item specifics are formatted. So rather than the Auction lots being returned as failed, they convert the Item specifics to their new formatting.
They are still changing Item specifics around.
