install location

Why does aw200 default to install off of the root directory instead of in the program files directory? I had a hard drive crash ( have my backups!!), and am reinstalling everything. Before I re-install it in its default directory, thought I might jsut ask.

HI,

Backups--they are such a wonderful thing to have. Sorry to hear about the hard drive crash.

You'll want to re-install AW2000 back into its default installation directory. Works much better.

Good luck. I am really glad you had your backups. Saves a huge headache.

HI

By the Way, you can install AW2000 in the program files if you so choose. The assumption is always that AW2000 is installed in the root directory so you will need to remember where you installed it should you need to do anything later on.

My backup isn't the built in backup, it is a copy of the aw200 directory. So it won't be as simple as re-installing and importing the backup. I'll have to copy either specific files, or entire directory.... any advice before I begin?

Dane,

Do you mean you burned a CD or DVD of the entire database?

Or you burned a copy of the C:/AW2000 onto a DVD or CD?
