How Do I Let eBay Know a Customer Has Paid?

Auction over. High bidder paid me directly by credit card not using PayPal. All is well. But customer is getting notices from eBay saying he needs to pay the bill. He is annoyed. How do I tell eBay that he has paid so that he doesn't get these notices.

Hi,

Your buyer can manually change the settings. Have your buyer go to his "won" items page in My eBay. Click on the drop down on the far right hand side and "Mark as Paid". The notices will stop.

I tell my buyers that I cannot access their eBay account and I do not see what they see. My records indicate the item has been paid, etc etc and thank them for their prompt payment. Then I tell them how to change the setting. I have never had anyone be upset after explaining.

Does that help?

I have been using ShipWorks in conjunction with AW2K. Wish they'd merge, but it downloads ALL the details from eBay and PayPal of payments etc, and automatically marks both PAID and SHIPPED on eBay for you. WISH THEY'D MERGE. PLEASE let me know if you know of an automated way within AW2K.

Ron,

If my buyers ask about marking item(s) as paid on eBay I just give them the instructions for manually changing the setting in their "Won" items. It is a rarity anyone asks though.

If the buyer uses the shipping calculator to obtain their shipping charge and then pays using Paypal, the setting is changed automatically at eBay.

I suppose it depends on how a seller wishes to manage their auctions. I am not quite sure the last time I looked at my sold items or even checked the status of each item whether paid, etc. The Invoicing tab/window in AW2K does that for me. So I don't have to mess with logging into eBay to track that type of thing.
