invoice #

Hi, I am having a hard time matching up my e-mails and the invoice # when people use the ebay check out. Any suggestions. Thanks

Re: invoice # new [re: Anonymous]

There are 3 ways to quickly locate an Invoice while reading an email message in an Email Reader window:

1. If the Invoice # appears in the email message, then highlight the Invoice # and click the Find Invoice # button on the toolbar at the top of the window. The database will be searched for an Invoice whose Invoice # matches the highlighted number. If a matching Invoice is found, it is displayed on the Database Record Panel.

2. If the Auction ID (e.g. eBay item #) of an Auction Lot appears in the email message, then highlight the Auction ID and click the Find Auction ID button on the toolbar at the top of the window. The database will be searched for the Auction Lot whose Auction ID matches the highlighted number. If a matching Auction Lot is found, it is displayed on the Database Record Panel.

You can quickly jump from the Auction Lot displayed on the Database Record Panel to any Invoice for that Auction Lot. Just click the View Invoice button on the toolbar at the top of the database record panel and select the Invoice from the popup menu. The selected Invoice will be displayed on the Database Record Panel. If you choose the wrong Invoice, switch back to the Auction Lots tab on the panel and try again.

3. If the buyer's email address appears in the email message, then highlight the email address and click the Find Buyer Email Address button on the toolbar at the top of the window. The database will be searched for the most recent Invoice whose buyer's email address matches the highlighted email address. If a matching Invoice is found, it is displayed on the Database Record Panel. You can find the next matching Invoice by clicking the Find Next button on the Database Record Panel's toolbar. This can be used to search for partial Email addresses.

#1 is best used when the buyer replies to an email message you sent to them, since the email you sent will most likely have an Invoice # in it. #2 and #3 are the best choices for emails from payment services. Those emails should contain both the Auction ID and the buyer's email address. If none of that information appears within the email message you can always click the Find... button on the Database Record Panel to search for an Invoice. You can copy text from the email message and paste it into the search window, just remember to copy the text before clicking the Find... button.
