Hi,
I'm trying to setup AW2K for my gmail account. Since Gmail supports POP3, SMTP & IMAP then it should work with the program it sounds like.
I followed the instructions on Gmail and entered:
pop.gmail.com
Port 995
smtp.gmail.com
Port 587 & also tried Port 465

Then I entered the rest of the info, but when I try testing POP3 it won't go past the "connecting to server" pop-up.

When I try testing the SMTP with Port 587 I get the following error:
Unknown SMTP error (Socket error 10035). Reply from server: "530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. cf7sm199195vdb.38".

When I try testing SMTP with Port 465 it just hangs on the "connecting to server" pop-up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. It works fine with Thunderbird, so maybe I'm just missing something on AW2K.

@Penny I read in one of your earlier post back in January that AW2K supports IMAP. Where are the IMAP settings please?

Hi there

AW2000 does not support gmail.

IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol

It is just a different way of handling email other than POP3 and SMTP..

pair.com uses IMAP instead of the POP3 protocol

Hi - I am just getting back into selling online and have downloaded AuctionWizard2000 and am trying to get past the 1st part - setting up emails. So if Gmail won't work, what free email account will work. I normally use Yahoo, but I don't wish to be paying for the service. Any help is appreciated.

Sorry for the slow response. AW2K does not support gmail unfortunately. However there are places to get free email addresses.

Your ISP service may provide free email. My centurylink provides a free email service as long as I use their internet. And so did our phone service when we had a business in Columbus. So check with your ISP service first to see.
