Can't find the Title tag

I've had scores of email templates in use for years and years. In the Subject line, most of them have the invoice number, the auction site, the auction ID number, then the title. Today, I created a new email template, but for the life of me, I cannot see a tag for auction title anywhere in the lists of Insert Invoice Field or Insert Invoice Item Field. I printscreened the two lists and read them over and over; even had my husband read the lists -- no tag for Title.

It's not really a problem, because I know what that tag is (<#Title>), and I can just type it in, but why is it missing from the Insert-Field lists? Or are my old eyes just playing tricks on me?

Well I had to go play with the Email template manager and edit a template.

You can use the Description tag which will pull in the first line of the description field.

Did manually adding the title line field tag work in the subject line like you wanted?

Yes, manually inserting (typing in) the Title tag works fine. It's been in dozens and dozens of my templates' Subject lines for years. I just don't understand why it's not on the lists of tags we can insert.

Did some checking. The field tag is there... just not named title

The field tag is:

<#ItemDescription>

It is under "Insert Invoice Item Field | Description" on the menu bar. The Invoice Item's "Description" field is copied from the Auction Lot's "Title" field when the Invoice is created.

How's that !!

Ah hah! So it's hiding in plain sight. I think I must have known where it was way back when I first set up AW, but in recent years, any new templates would be just edits of old templates, so I forgot where I originally found the Title tag. Well, my vote would be to rename that tag, but Thom's vote would probably be for users to read the Help Files more carefully.

Thanks Judy.
