Why does my date format keep changing?
|
|
|
Hi All!!! Sorry I've been so busy for so long I haven't been on the forum much. It's crazy! Anyone want to come over and babysit? (haha)
Anyway, I have a little problem. All of the sudden my date format keeps changing from mm/dd/yyyy to dd/mm/yyyy. If I close the program and restart it usually fixes for a while, but that is getting to be a real pain. Can anyone please help?
Thanks All!!

Cher,
It sure is good to see you! Wondered how you were doing.
uhhh, babysitting,,,well, with 7 grandkids, I sort of have my hands full. But I can sure sympathize with you.
You are using Windows XP, correct?
Because it sounds like your date formatting for your computer is messed up. You might go into the Control Panel | Regional settings and look at the date formatting there and see how it is displayed. You select "Change the format numbers, date, and time" I think my Regional and Language in the control panel has "customize" and then another applet pops up.. Be user to use the "United States. If those are set correctly, then everything will work in AW2000.
Let me know if that works.

As usual Judy you are absolutely correct! I checked and the setting was right, but there was a tweak in it that I fixed. Must be my 3 year-old using the computer again.
Thank you so much!!

Hey there girl!
Good to hear from you! I am so glad that worked.
There is one computer in my computer lab that has a date thing too... I am thinking of using a hammer to correct it

Judy, Here's another issue for you to fix up. My XP machine, on its own, anytime it feels like it changes the drive letter to my external hard drive. It is of course the drive that I have all my programs directed to to backup. So when it decides to get a mind of its own and change, kind of screws things up. But you know it hasn't done this in about 10 days so I figure it is due! So my question is: Is there a way to pin the drive letter to the drive, and stop this insanity?
Mind you I know how to change it back, in my sleep! But I haven't been able to make it permanent!
Solutions please!

Marty,
Are you connecting other hardware to your computer like flash/jump drives. scan disks for SD or Memory cards??
Any of those extra hardware your computer sees as a drive. And may reassign the drive letters sometimes in order of use. I'll have to check on the solution. I know there is one but man I can't remember it off the top of my head. But I will look for you.

Judy,
No I am not adding anything when it happens.
Yes I change it with disk management.
There is absolutely no hurry on this solution. I too know there is a way, just figured that you may have it right away!
Thanks!

Marty,
Is your external hard drive connected via USB port? And is it changing after a start up or reboot? Or does it change just out of the clear blue?
