Using this forum: Pictures & Signatures new

It's easy to add a Picture (appears underneath your username in posts) or a Signature (appears at the end of your post).

Click Edit Profile in the top menu bar. Then click Basic Profile.

The Your Picture field is near the bottom of the page. Enter the URL, something like http://mysite.com/MyPic.jpg.

The Signature field is up higher on the same page. You can enter text, and use Markup to style it. If you want to display an image, enter something like [*image]http://mysite.com/SigImage.jpg[/*image]. (The image markup tag doesn't have an asterisk between the bracket and the letter i, but here I want to show the markup, not actually use it, so I've had to add the asterisk.)

In this forum, the Picture and Signature are static. When you create a post, the Picture and Signature in effect at that time are associated with the post and used forever. Changing your picture or signature will not affect any posts you've already made.

To see the effect of a new picture or signature, you must create a new post.

Some other forum software uses dynamic Pictures and Signatures. On those forums, your current pic and sig are used whenever a post is displayed. I mention this because I assumed this forum was dynamic, and wasted time trying to make things work the way I thought they did. Now you know, and things should go smoother for you.

Ned,

Thanks for the information. That will be very helpful to others trying to figure out how to edit their profile and add everything to it.
