Request to add Bonanazle to sites managed by AW2K

Since I notice that a lot of (ex)Ebay users list on Bonanzle.com nowadays, my request is to add Bonanzle to the sites one can use AW2K with.

Bonanzle is not a fly by nite site, but an e-commerce site that grew in a few months to almost 500,000 listings and 14,000 users.

Bonanzle also hosts a large majority of (ex)Ebay users.

For AW2K it would be a great opportunity to get on board as the first desktop 'listing and channel management tool' for Bonanzle, before competing products sign up with them.

Peter,

Perhaps you can shed some light on navigating through their site. I will have to admit, I didn't find the site easy to get around in. But maybe I am not looking in the right places or going about it in the right manner.

Maisey,

Welllll, check out my booth at

See you on Bonanzle...!1

Did you import your eBay store listings. It is not a difficult process. And setting up the google base xml file upload is a breeze. The Bonanzle xml file is super clean. Not a single attribute or missing condition. I cannot say the same for the file eBay provides to store owners..

I have emailed tech support about possible support. However, Bonanzle has not yet released anything so any third party providers can support it yet. They do not plan to allow third party in until the middle of 2009. Or that is what I heard.

Don't hold my feet in the fire on that one!

Hey Maisey,

Be sure and bump other AW2K to come back over here and post their Bonanzle booth URL.

There are alot of AW2K users on Bonanzle. I run into them every single day. But I think it would be very interesting to have everyone post their booth URL so we can all take a look at each other's booth. On top of that, posting the URL is good advertising :o)

Hi Maisey & Judy:

I too took the jump to Bonanzle. Spent quite a bit of time looking at it and thinking of how I could move my type of material there. Then right after the New Year decided it would be foolish not to be selling there. It's too early for me to have any feedback from there but it is a super site and so easy to work with. My booth there is http://www.bonanzle.com/booths/AquilaStamps

Thanks, every visit helps a lot. . I've seen the booth's of the other AW2K people too. All of them are very nice. It's fun to be able to do some things differently on "B". It seems it is less restrictive in some ways than eBay. In fact it's down right refreshing.

Mickey:
Congratulations on setting up your Bonanzle Booth!

To finish your Google feed this information may help:

On the page that lists your data feeds click the "Create" link just to the right of the word "Schedule." A box will pop up asking how often you want your items updated. Choose whatever frequency you want. It also asks for the "Url of the file," paste in your information: (something similar to http://www.bonanzle.com/booth_feeds/YOUR NAME FROM BONANZLE.xml

Check out these two links for examples:

http://www.bonanzle.com/images/help/booth/base_register.gif

http://www.bonanzle.com/images/help/booth/base_feed_schedule.gif

This is info I got from Bonanzle and it was useful to me when I set up my Google feed.

Hope this helps.

Garry,

This might be a really naive question, as I only just got referred to Bonanzle the other day and still know very little about it, but...................

Do you still create invoices and track your Bonanzle sales using AW?

Re: Request to add Bonanazle to sites managed by AW2K new [re: tictictic_OnEbay]

Hi Sue:

Long time no talk. I use AW2K to track my stuff on The B. I know Judy has a method also. I set up a Bonanzle Profile. I couldn't fill it all out of course just at least get the name in there. Then type up the description, move in a Pix and give it a title and a start date but of course no end date as it's GTSold. Then I upload to Bonanzle. Once it is done I view it on Bonanble and then copy the ID Number they give it and past it into AW2K's Auction ID. Everything else in the AW2K page is the same as if it was eBay price, shipping etc. So when I sell on The B - I search by ID number in AW2K and it finds it and I invoice as usual.

I know Judy has a different and probably more streamlined workflow for The B. When she signs on I'm sure she will share with you her ideas.

Hope it helps - really all you need to do is be creative with aw2k and make it do what you want for The B.

Re: Request to add Bonanazle to sites managed by AW2K new [re: AquilaStamps]

Thanks Garry,

Just knowing this can be done in AW will spur me to checking further into The B. Sounds totally do-able. Thanks for the tutorial!

One other question, if you don't mind: When The B notifies you of a sale (assuming they do that), do you get the buyer's email address? And do all The B's emails get delivered to your AW emailbox?

Oh! And one other thing -- someone here mentioned (I might have this wrong) listing things on The B as well as in their eBay Store simultaneously. Is that risky at all? I list things in my eBay Store and on Craig's List simultaneously, because with Craig's List, there will always be some email communication before a sale is consummated, so I'd be able to end my eBay listing, or vice-versa, I'd be able to tell a Craig's List shopper the item was already sold. Can you do something like that with Bonanzle? I mean, isn't there always the chance an item could sell on both sites when you're not at your computer, and assuming you don't have duplicates, you'd be pretty well stuck?

Re: Request to add Bonanazle to sites managed by AW2K new [re: tictictic_OnEbay]

Sue,

If you have an eBay store, you can just import your eBay listings into Bonanzle., It is not difficult at all.

Yes there is a risk. But you are notified immediately (much more quickly at Bonanzle) if something sells. So if something sells on eBay and I only have one, I will delete that listing at Bonanzle.

Or if something sells at Bonanzle and I have it on eBAy, I will either edit the qty offered or end the auction. YOu just have to watch the End of auctions coming.

now you can do something else. Create an Auction profile in AW2K for Bonanzle. Does not matter if it is eBAy or eBAy store site.. Complete all the fields like the default email templates etc. And create an Auction lot for each listing on Bonanzle. Cut and paste the Bonanzle item Id into the Auction id field. set the Start date to the day you listed and change the status to either Queued for listing or even to online.

Now online will generate an "you need to download auction id's for x auctions" everytime you update Auction lots but you can cancel it.

When an item sells on Bonanzle, manually generate an INvoice for the buyer, add the Auction lot they won to their invoice and finish the backend functions just like normal.

So far my Bonanzle buyers are responding to emails I send out.

I hope that makes sense.

Mickey, If you are still having trouble with your google base upload, let us know. The scheduled uploads are causing all sorts of trouble because Google automatically populates the file URL with your booth URL. And that is incorrect. YOu have to manually change the URL to your xml file feed. Not hard to do, you just have to know where to go.

I bet I have dug 25 or more BOnanzle users google base feeds out of the ditch in the past week,

Happy Bonanzling!

Re: Request to add Bonanazle to sites managed by AW2K new [re: tictictic_OnEbay]

Sue:

I think it is at least worth looking onto The B. There is no investment of money only your time to get the Booth stocked. Then there is a very inexpensive fee they charge when the item sells. As far as listing in both venues it is doable right now. Once again I await hearing from Judy because she has lots of material and I think they are listed in both places. She may have a system. The only thing that I know for now is that on The B if an item "sells" the buyer really is making an offer. That offer can be for the full price you have stated or something less - suppose it could be more if they were feeling generous. The sale does not take place on The B until you reply to their offer and either accept or reject the offer. This gives you plenty of time to canx the eBay item if you decide to sell the item on The B. Also if the item sells on eBay then you delete the item from Bonanzle. I think as far as double selling it is always possible but for now with the seller having to accept the offer from a potential buyer on The B - well if it already sold on eBay you can not accept the offer and with a polite explaination.

And yes you get the buyers info on The B in the "offer" and all their info if you accept the offer.

Whew, I did go on and on huh? Anyway those are my thoughts on posting on The B and eBay. Check with Judy however, as she has lots more product available on both sites and I'm sure she has tips, pointers etc for selling the same item in both places.

Hope this helps

Re: Request to add Bonanazle to sites managed by AW2K new [re: mouse]

MIckey,

I might mention that unless you have a multi client google base account, you will need to setup a totally new google base account for Bonanzle. You cannot upload eBay feeds and Bonanzle feeds in the same account.

If you elect to use a multi client account, there are factors you need to be aware of. One being if you import your listings from eBay, and use eBAy's feeds, you cannot upload duplicates. Google will kick on of them out.

If you have two google base accounts, you can get away with it as it is coming from two different accounts.

I hope that makes sense.

To delete an item go to The B and log in. Then at the very top click on SELL. Scroll till you find the item you want to delete and hover your mouse over the item and you will get three choices:
1. Edit
2. Delete
3. Duplicate

Click on Delete and follow through from there and the item is gone. Hope this helps.

Mickey,

Here is a quick way to find something in the "Sell" tab. In the "Sell" tab, look on the left right below the "Add an Item" link and see the "Search" link
Click the "Search" open, Paste the Title line into the field and the listing will pop up. you can then mouse over and delete.

You can also go to the "Batch editor" and search by Title. Then put a checkmark next to the auction and select delete in the left hand upper side of the batch editor.

Re: Request to add Bonanazle to sites managed by AW2K new [re: mouse]

Mickey,

Signing up for a new google base account isn't hard. Just takes a few mouse clicks

Here the URL for a new google base account

http://www.google.com/base

You have to use a different email address. No two google base account can have the same email addy. But you use pair.com so you can create quite a few email accounts.

If you are going to import auctions from eBay, it is generally not recommended to use a multi client google base account as the duplicate listings cause an issue. One or the other sites will not upload as google will not allow duplicates.

I hope that makes sense.

Re: Request to add Bonanazle to sites managed by AW2K new [re: tictictic_OnEbay]

Sue,

Something else. I am selling product on Bonanzle. One of the Bonanzle transactions only cost me $1.00. It would have cost $7.50 on eBay.

So I figured it was worth the effort to do some things manually like listing there. Honestly, if you create an Auction lot in AW2K, save teh image to your hard drive, you can upload the image to Bonanzle, copy/paste the title line and the description completing a listing in about 30 to 45 seconds if you have high speed. EVerynow and then it will be a minute. But I can buzz through a listing pretty fast now.

I figured since there is not an insertion fee but only Final value fees it can't hurt to list stuff there for a while. Traffic seems to be good. I know alot of eBay buyers are migrating as they hate the new "My eBay" as well as some of the other changes. The Bonanzle forums are full of buyers moving over.

So I would think at some point sales will have to escalate there.

Re: Request to add Bonanazle to sites managed by AW2K new [re: bluepennylady]

Just dropping in to say THANK YOU to Garry and Judy for three very informative posts on this topic. I've saved them all to my Bonanzle How-To file. As soon as I have an empty day, I'm going to set up a B booth.

The way I see it, though, is that as soon as Bonanzle begins taking on household-word status (imagine Sarah Palin saying, "...so I sold it on Bonanzle!"), and a few thousand more eBay sellers jump ship, eBay will just buy Bonanzle and that'll be that. Sigh.

And by the way, I asked both my adult, internet-savvy daughters (they're up on current events and frequently buy things online) if they'd ever heard of Bonanzle, and neither had. From a buyer's point of view (for collectibles, antiques, used stuff, bargains), there is still only eBay. I don't know why anyone would search Bonanzle and not eBay, for example, or for that matter, search Bonanzle before eBay. If Bonanzle began running radio/tv ads targeted at shoppers, what features would they say gave them an edge over eBay?

Re: Request to add Bonanazle to sites managed by AW2K new [re: tictictic_OnEbay]

Sue,

Actually Bonanzle has ramped up to the 4th most used venue in just the past few weeks. They reached over 1 million listings Monday of this week with over 23,000 users.... And the users are not all sellers. It is about a 3 buyer to every 1 seller ratio.

http://www.bonanzle.com was named the biggest alternative to eBAy in 2008. There is an article about it here http://www.smallbusinesscomputing.com/news/article.php/11520_3798906_4

Antiques and collectibles fit very well into the Bonanzle model as the market is actually set for used/antique/vintage product. So much so that before I opened a booth up I inquired if new product was allowed on the site.

I am selling product there. Sold more stuff this morning. And it is not practicals selling but collectibles or novelty items.

Bonanzle's xml file feed for Google base is much cleaner than eBay's xml file. I haven't had a single missing attribute or condition.

Bonanzle seller's are using the Google base xml file feeds to base, and it is pushing alot of traffic to the site. So if a seller is offering product on Bonanzle and eBay the listings often pull up right next to each other even in an internet search. You have a 50/50 chance the prospective buyer clicking on the Bonanzle listing. Especially if you do some self promotion and move your Bonanzle listing to the top of the search page yourself

The venue is much easier to navigate around in than eBay. Pages load much more quickly. The Sell Your item form is one page as opposed to how many pages on eBay so the process goes quickly to post an item.

There is an integrated shopping cart on the site. it is much easier for buyers to purchase multiple items on Bonanzle.

There are real live human beings that work the tech support. And when they respond, you get an answer that actually answers your question as opposed to some canned response that doesn't even begin to address the issue you inquired about.

So far my experience on Bonanzle has been quite positive. The forums are MUCH friendlier,, The tech support is on top of things and respond to inquiries.

Anyway, since there are no listing fees but only Final Value fees, I decided to give it a try for a while...... And I am selling stuff there.

Hi, All,

For those of you that are wondering still about joining Bonanzle.... Here is another post made by Bonanzle's CEO/founder and developer Bill Harding. There have been more changes made that even further enhance the site.

http://www.bonanzle.com/blogs

Now here's what even cooler,,, almost every single day, I am selling product on Bonanzle. I know it isn't landslide business but still, a new site in early development stages and "stuff" is selling. Doing the math on just the savings on fees it is flat out worth the time to list on Bonanzle.
