AW2K Suspicious Activity

I just got a notice from Spyware Doctor that says AW2000.exe is logging keystrokes. I've never gotten this notice before and I have used SD for years. Is this normal activity for AW2K?????

Cher,

AW2K is not logging any keystroke activity at all. I would highly recommend that you run a second malware software program .... Something like malwarebytes free software. It works and graps anything in the background.

Hi Judy,
Are you saying that something else is logging keystrokes?

Cher,

Yes,,, If that activity is actually occuring at all. So a good way to check is to run another malware software program and check the results.

I do know AW2000 does not log keystroke activity on any computer.

When I see that on a network or any computer which has been running a software program for a long time like you have been running AW2K, the first thing I do is recommend running a second malware software program. As something else could be causing the issue. (if it is actually happening at all)

Well that's why I have Spyware Doctor. But I've been using both programs together for a long time.

Cher,

I am saying that if something has got into your computer past Spyware doctor, another software program may clean it up.

AW2K doesn't do keystroke logging. That is not something that is built into the software now or ever before.. So if something is showing activity now, then you might well have a malware program working in the background fiddling with software. AW2K today and maybe something else tomorrow.

I recommended Malwarebytes as I have found it very effective in capturing and removing really bad malware on machines.

My daughter had a similar issue crop up here a couple of months ago. Not with AW2K but with other sofware. She has malware software protection on her computer but a particular trojan got around it and caused some real problems. Malwarebytes is what I used to clean up her machine.

Ok, I'm going to download it right now. Says there is a free trial, and one for about $25. Is that the one?

Cher,

YOu don't have to pay for it. There is a totally free version... There is a paid version that offers more "stuff" but the freeware software works very well. You can make a donation to them if you so choose. I have used Malwarebytes alot. My niece is an IT for a big company and they use it in their computer labs to clean up machines.

Cher,

A backup is always a good idea before doing anything new on a computer...
