Update - Repeat Buyer?  

LOVE the last update - having the name/address is a real time saver.

But I have one question....what is the "repeat buyer" toggle for?

I appreciate having that data, but I don't see where I can use it. For example, is there some way to identify a repeat buyer for an email template?

Hi

Isn't it cool!

When a buyer is a returning buyer, the "REpeat buyer" checkbox will be automatically checked. If a buyer purchases something this morning for the first time, the checkbox is unchecked. But if the buyer returns at noon today to buy something else, the checkbox then is checked as a returning repeat buyer. A second purchase triggers the "REpeat buyer" to work.

We edited all our templates. REmoved the "User id" field tag in favor of buyer's first name field tag. And re=worded the template to simply thank the buyer for shoppign with us, verify the product list is correct. and then to verify the shipping address matches Paypal.

For "Repeat buyers' we developed a template for that a long time ago. The template acknowledges the buyer is a returning buyer by telling them it is good to see them again. And hope the email finds them well,
Lists their winning bids.
Inquiries if there is anything else they would like to add to their Invoice.

We go through the Invoices quickly after generating invoices and send out the "repeat buyer" template individually to the returning buyers prior to using "Tasks > Notify winning bidders"

Since we have changed the template to a Thanks for shopping with us type of template we send it out prior to even recording payments.

Great idea! In fact, I was thinking along the same line :)

Actually, what I was asking was if the repeat buyer toggle could be used in any of the automated processes. What I wanted to do was some kind of an acknowledgment in my standard "thanks for payment" email that was conditional on them being a repeat buyer.

I was also thinking that a seperate feedback category for repeat buyers would also be cool.

See...Thom does some really cool thing and users like me say "wow...thanks...how about adding THIS also..."

HI

Why couldn't you develop a repeat buyer "Thanks for payment" email. You could select it in the drop down box on the "Record Income" dialog box.. And since the "Repeat buyer" toggle can be seen in the Email reader window or the Invoice itself, you would know if you were recording income for a repeat buyer... Well that is if you associate Paypal with the related invoices..

hummm, I wonder if it can be automated.....

Let's ask...
