Re: Image hosting new [re: DEALS2000]

Hi, Steve,

I would highly recommend using pair.com. The basic service is $5.95 for 250 MB of space which includes 200 mailboxes and 20GB of bandwidth transfer. Their service is extremely reliable. I have been with them for 2 years. In 2 years time my images or website has not been down one single time. There are many other Web hosting services out there to choose from. However, I always recommend pair.com to any person or company that inquires. Pair is just good.

Their FTP settings are very easy to configure in AW2000. And pair.com offers reports on your web hosting so you can see what is going on every day.

Can you tell I like them?? :o)

Maybe your new ISP includes a certain amount of storage, just as ATT did? My Verizon DSL includes 10 MB free. Not much room, but the price is right.

Hi,

Good point Ned. Your ISP may provide some space. My ISP does not provide any space at all. Free or otherwise. So I was forced to look elsewhere. But yours could very well. Be sure to check the particulars as some free space has limitations or restrictions as to the use.

I use datazap to host my images. It is 4.95 a month and you have unlimited space. It works well with auctionwizard. I have used them for 2 years and never had a problem. They are also family owned and have great customer service. Highly recommend! www.datazap.net

Re: Image hosting new [re: bluepennylady]

Hi everyone,
I've been using comcast as my site for images, used to use AT&T. I still have my AT& T space. For 2 or 3 days, Comcast has been "down" now, today, I can get my pictures using Firefox, but they can't be seen using internet explorer. Now, I know that AW2K changes my pictures file names, so, If I want to upload them to AT&T on existing listings. Or my other choice is to end my listings early and resart all over again. If anybody wants to check this, it is www.marcandcarolinesgreatfinds.com

Re: Image hosting new [re: maisey]

Maisey,

You can move your images to a new FTP account without ending your auctions. Just takes a tad of editing on each auction.

Configure your new FTP account in AW2000.
Add that new account to each of your Auction profiles as the default FTP account.

Then change the status of all the Online Auctions to "Queued for Listing"
Upload the images to the new account when the List all auctions dialog box opens.
Cancel the listing process after the Images are done uploading on the Lister window

Next--log in to your eBay account.
Each auction image URL will have to be edited to point to the new FTP account. So you click the Revise item.
Down in the description field. Click the HTML tab.
You will see the image URL's right off the bat.
The part you need to edit is after the "http://your FTP account info----and leave the part of the URL that starts with AW2K/LotImagexxxxx.jpg.

The part of the Image URl after "http:// up to AW2K/LogImgxxx.jpg is the part that needs to be edited and changed to your new account information.

Does that make sense? Or better yet, does that help?

Re: Image hosting new [re: bluepennylady]

Well,
My auction pictures are back up for now, can see them in firefox, and in an updated ie explorer, I've opened an account with pair.com, per your advice.
I tried to get into the listing, but once you have a bid, they won't let you in to fix even the html. So, my new auctions will be at pair.com, they have a service that will waive the 20 set up fee, so 3 months for 15.00 - where eBay picture host ould cost me 1.00 per listing- that's expensive!
thanks for your help on the pair site

Re: Image hosting new [re: maisey]

Maisey,

I am glad your auction images are appearing. Listings with bids do present a problem in terms of revisions.

I really like pair.com. They have provided excellent service over the years for me.

Do not cancel your account at the other service yet. Allow all the auctions which are stored at that account to end before you cancel the account. Then you won't have to be concerned about moving images. And as you said you can just list using pair.com instead from now on.

eBay's picture services and image hosting is expensive. The way they say it is only ".15 per listing" doesn't compute until someone gets their bill after listing for an entire month using those services. Image hosting is one of the quickest ways to reduce costs.

Don't hesitate to holler if you need more help. By the Way, the AW2000 Help file contains information on how to configure the pair.com FTP account settings. Look in the help file under FTP account settings. They are in alphabetical order.
