http address my domain

Hello,
AW2K keeps saying that my http address does not match my ftp address. My http address is my own domain rather than an address made up of the host name and then my user name. Will this prevent me from uploading to the site? If so, how can I fix? Thanks!

Your FTP Account needs to successfully pass the FTP Settings test before you list any auctions. Otherwise the images will not show in your listings.

Contact technical support via email at info@auctionwizard2000.com. They can help you resolve the problem.

I had the same problem. On my web site the pages go into a folder called public_html.
I had to add that to the end to get AW to read the site right.
Hope this helps

I have had the same error -- "The HTTP Address field does not point to the same location as the FTP Settings. Check Remote Directory and HTTP Address Fields."

I've checked with my ISP and they say "No, there is no HTTP address and/or Remote Directory assigned to any of the ftp accounts."

...a bit confused on what to do to resolve. Any advice?

Re: http address my domain new [re: retrosoft]

Its means that the location you have specified in your FTP remote directory field does not match the HTTP address you have listed. The result is that the images you upload will probably not be accessible in your auctions.

For example...

One of my FTP accounts is at e-pins.com.
The ftp host name is: ftp.e-pins.com

What usually trips people up is the remote directory.
My remote directory is: /public_html/ - a lot of other hosts use the same "/public_html" directory as the "root" of the webspace.

So a file called "pic.jpg" upload to ftp.e-pins.com at the remote directory of /public_html is accessible to the web at http://www.e-pins.com/pic.jpg - the "/public_html" part is invisible to the web.

So the http address field on aw2k should be "http://www.e-pins.com/"

The "public_html" part is invisible.

Your ISP probably knows all this, but didn't understand what you were asking.

Who is your webhost? Someone here might know the details of their setup...

Rich,

FANTASTIC!!! Your post pushed me through. My host is Experthost.com.

My remote directory is "/wwwroot".
HTTP Address is "http://www.earjoy.com".

Test worked. I am happy.... Thanks so much.
