ftp-http no match and more ftp questions

Hi,

I'm trying to test my ftp settingsand I'm getting the message "The HTTP address field does not point to the same location as the FTP settings. Check the Remote Directory and HTTP Address fields."

I've gone round and round with BellSouth and they insist that my settings are correct:
host: home.bellsouth.net
http address: http://home.bellsouth.net/p/PWP-lionrhod/

However I do notice that Auction Wizard seems to have uploaded a file there called aw2ktest.html - does that mean it actually works and I can ignore the error message?

When does Auction Wizard upload my images? Not until it lists? Is there a way to get it to manually upload so I can see that the images reallly work?

Will it also upload the images from my profiles?

Thanks,

Lion

I've just tried with 3 seperate hosts and I am still getting the same problem.

Now I have it going to my biz website and even though I can go directly to http://www.lionrhod.com/auctions/astrologo.jpg (a file I loaded from another program to make sure the url works) and see the file, I still can't get there with Auction Wizard

Okay it gets weirder. After many tries with many different remote directories, I finally changed my settings to something that Auction Wizard liked:
remote directory: /usr/local/apache/htdocs/
http address: http://www.lionrhod.com

However the program didn't actually upload the files. What is really strange about this, is that when I put in my http address WITHOUTH the remote directory, AW DID upload the files, but it was uploaded to a directory BEFORE the remote directory which is not accessible from the web.

This is what I get for trying to figure out a program during mercury retrograde.

and even weirder - I finally went to an ftp account that I'd loaded the image to, but the url was wrong because they have some weird redirect where you have to go thru the hassle of publishing your images on your website page or else the url won't work. I copied the files to my desktop, ftp'd them via a seperate program to the correct folder on my other website - the one where AW likes the directory/http match, and FINALLY was able to list the auction.

Temporary fix, but this is CRAZY - way too many steps just to get my images uploaded and I'm afraid that AW won't remove the images when it should.

The Remote directory and HTTP address can be very confusing and greatly depends on the setup of your host.
For me ie. the http address is http://www.mydomain.nl/ebay/ while in fact the remote directory is /web/ebay/
'ebay' is a directory I specifically created for my eBay pictures so my root directory is /web while for the outer world it is www.mydomain.nl.
Most of the time you can find this difference by logging in to your webspace through a seperate FTP program and look what path you see in there.
