I have an image hosting account with LOTS of room - my brother and I, both AW2K users, would like to use the same server for our auction pictures.

Problem is, I guess I don't know how to set it up for two users. Both of our programs automatically go to the aw2k folder on the server to put the images - BIG PROBLEM as anytime he lists it deletes ALL my photos, anytime I list it deletes ALL of his photos.

How would we configure the ftp settings to have both of us use my server? Would we need to change something in the remote directory away from: /public_html/ ?

Two AW2000 users cannot share the same FTP account or the images will be deleted as you have experienced.

You need to create another directory on the Public html side in order for it to work. I create directories for my students at college and they all share the same FTP space with me. Each student has their own directory. And AW2K is configured to upload the images to their directory.

Yes, I think it does help Judy!

I just tried one with by adding a:
kathyaw2k/

after the public_html folder in the ftp settings, and it uploaded perfectly! It created it's own aw2k folder inside the kathyaw2k folder and seemed to be great. My brother's photos are still intact on his auctions!

Excellent! As long as you create a different top level directory for each user, you will be fine using one FTP account/

im confused on how to do this Penny?
Im having the same problem.
my ftp site is lunarpages and I have an aw2k folder and want to use subdirectories too.
Do I have to add a directory on lunarpages as well in the ftp account and if so where ?

I tried adding it in the AW ftp account where the remote directory is
public_html /brittanyaw2k and it didnt work.

Two AW2K users can share the same FTP space but you must create two directories.

For example in my account at pair.com I have my AW2K folder for my stuff,

but I created student folders for class. I have a directory for
Student 1
Student 2

In AW2K I have the FTP Http url set to go to

http://iruvul.pair.com/myaccountname/student1

Aw2K will put that students images into their own directory instead of mine.
