Hey Rick, Let's see what we can do Try this within AW2K....
FTP Host Name: XYZCO.com FTP Port: 21 Username/Password: This is the username and password that you use to enter the cPanel within Siteground - IT IS NOT THE FTP account username and password that you used to set up the FTP account on Siteground. This is confusing I know. But enter in the info as if you were logging into cPanel from your Siteground account.
Change your Remote Directory to: public_html/AW2K-FTP
And change your HTTP Address to: http//www.XYZCO.com/AW2K-FTP/
Let me know if it works -- it should!

Hi Marty,
Still a no go. I am still getting the error message "unable to change to the remote directory. Check remote directory field." I dont have the remote directory field used in any of my other FTP account settings that work. Do I need this? If I remove it I get the error HTTP's dont point to same location. Why was this so easy to set up with Yahoo and Comcast? Is siteground the problem?
thanks to you and Judy for the help with this.

Hey Rick,
We will figure this out! I don't think it is Siteground, probably something simple we are missing.
I had you change the FTP Host Name to: XYZCO.com try changing it to FTP.XYZCO.com
Run the test and let us know.
We will find the issue -

Rick,
Just for fun...... I just went and created a FTP account on siteground, and then configured it in AW2K and the test was successful!
Judy - did you see anything in the log yet?

Rick, After looking over my instructions I noticed some punctuation errors, sorry - let's see if this is better:
Where XYZCO.com is your domain name, and AW2K-FTP is the directory within your Siteground FTP account. You can check that directory by logging in to cPanel and clicking on FTP accounts, in the table under Directory.
FTP Host Name: XYZCO.com FTP Port: 21 Username/Password: This is the username and password that you use to enter the cPanel within Siteground - IT IS NOT THE FTP account username and password that you used to set up the FTP account on Siteground. This is confusing I know. But enter in the info as if you were logging into cPanel or your Siteground account.
Change your Remote Directory to: public_html/AW2K-FTP/
And change your HTTP Address to: http://XYZCO.com/AW2K-FTP/
Also just for info - I didn't change anything on the "Advanced Settings" but here are my settings just in case yours may be different. HTTP Settings: Time out 120 sec Use Winlnet API checked, Mode 2 FTP Settings: Timeout 120 sec Retry checked , 5 Times Use PASV mode checked Use Quit command to disconnect checked
Hope this gets it!
Let me know -

Judy, Ok. I think it is something so simple, could be my corrections, hope so.
The other thing is the username, password issue. When you set up a FTP account in Siteground you provide a username, which becomes the directory name. And then you also provide a password. They are just to access the account to edit it there NOT to use it from a FTP client. The FTP client gains access through your main account's username and password. I know it is confusing because it aggravated me to no end at one time, till I just accepted it!
When you see the log let me know what you see!
