I'm Assuming I'm Missing something in my templates and I want to say I recall long ago seeing a place where you could make default image sizes.
Any how we have an Image that is 600x400 and it shows it at 600x400 in the image editior, however when ever viewing the preview it gets resized to 360x240. This happens n custom templates and default templates.

Any idea as to why it is getting resized? or is this possibly my browser resizing it?

Check the Program options > General tab in the uploaded image size. See what the image resize is set to.
