merging database(s) [re: ]

Hello, not sure if its possible but is there any way to add inventory items from a prior database back up into my current one? I sell mainly one off antique items, but enter them into inventory items, then either create a listing or if outside of eBay create an invoice for the item, then at end of each year clear database (saving a back up copy) and start with a clean slate. I guess this wasn't that good of an idea as I have many items that didn't sell I would like to retreive from past years.

If you had used the built-in "archive and delete" option, you could automatically re-import any or all of the prior data. That's how I do it each year - that cleans out the old data and puts it in the archive files.

Not sure if this same function would work on a "non-archive" file since the database structure changes over time so the old data files become incompatible with the new data files unless they are converted. When ever there is an update to AW, both the live and archived data files are converted together to avoid this problem.

At least this is how I've come to understand things.

I would guess that there is a more technical utility program or function that could merge different formatted data, but if might be a very manual and tedious process.
