Do I need to create Inventory Items?

The use of Inventory Items is completely optional in Auction Wizard 2000.

You’ll only need to create Inventory Items if you want to track the quantity in stock of items you sell regularly, or to create an inventory catalog of items you may want to sell later.

For example, you might use stock Inventory Items in Auction Wizard 2000 if you repeatedly sell different styles and sizes of the same item. Or, if you’ll want to combine two or more separate non-stock items together later in a single auction listing.

When you are ready to list your auctions on an auction site, you’ll be able to create an Auction Lot from the Inventory Items, and all of the images and data fields from the items will be automatically copied to the Auction Lot. Enter the quantity of the item you’re listing in the Auction Lot's Quantity field and it’s ready to list it.

Creating and managing Inventory Item records are outlined in the help files. Select Help | Contents from the Auction Wizard 2000 menu bar and click on the Index tab to locate the Inventory Items window topic for more detailed information.

Can you please expand on this line in you instructions?
Or, if you’ll want to combine two or more separate non-stock items together later in a single auction listing.

I appreciate the great program you have!!!

Here's how to combine multiple non-Stock Inventory Items together into a single Auction Lot:

1. Create a new Auction Lot using the Create a new Auction Lot from an Inventory Item option on the "Add Auction Lot" dialog box. Select the first non-Stock Inventory Item that you want as part of the Auction Lot on that dialog box. Click the OK button to create the Auction Lot.

2. Once the Auction Lot has been created you can add additional non-Stock Inventory Items to it from the "Inventory Items" tab on the Auction Lots window. Click the Add Inventory Item button on the toolbar at the top of the tab to add another non-Stock Inventory Item to the Auction Lot. The "Add Inventory Item to Auction Lot" dialog box is displayed for selecting the Inventory Item. Select an Inventory Item from the grid on the dialog box and click the OK button to add it to the Auction Lot.

3. Repeat step 2 to add additional non-Stock Inventory Items to the Auction Lot.

Does this mean that I cannot create an auction from multiple stock inventory items?

Thanks!!!

You cannot create an Auction Lot from multiple Stock Inventory Items. Only Non-Stock Inventory Items can be combined into the same Auction Lot.

Will this be changed in the future? I stock items that can be combined to form the "complete" kit. If I list them as inventory items, I cannot track how many were sold, on hand, etc.
Please advise.

Thanks!!!

We do not plan to change the Inventory system to allow multiple Stock Inventory Items to be combined into a single Auction Lot. I suggest that you create a new Stock Inventory Item for your complete kit.
