Zero'in quanity levers

Okay, I used to use this program long ago when I was doing ebay for a business. Hense I took a break and am now back to it. During the time of my break, I moved a couple of times and everything is messed up in my inventory and not organized. I'm setting up a new storage location set up but need to zero all of the inventory levels first. Now I know I can go item by item, but is there a quicker way? 1237 items would take a while..

Karl,

"Qty in Stock" cannot be edited in bulk. You can edit the Storage location by going to "Record | Edit storage location" and deleting the Storage location you no longer need. That field will contain no value on any affected Inventory Items. You already know you can add whatever Storage locations you want.

But for you it really isn't too big of an issue. You have to change the Storage locations anyway. So while you are changing storage locations, you can change the "Qty in Stock" I know the Storage locations can be changed in bulk but since you have not listed in a long time, you might want to consider re-doing some descriptions and freshen up the look. Just a thought.

You might also consider just start putting in new Inventory Items. Then you can go through the Inventory more slowly making adjustments or making the Inventory Item inactive. Once inactive you can use the Advanced Archive options so the record will be removed the next time your archive.

I'll get back to you concerning the old program and the new program.

Karl,

You go now!! You are speedy!

Boy howdy, plan big. The first time we set up the Storage locations, we didn't plan big enough or organize deeply enough. So within a year we had to re-do. And you would think we learned. But oh no not us.

So we had to re-do our storage locations again. And here we are, in the past 30 days re-doing them one more time. Third time is a charm. I think we got it.

Judy,

I have been there before, it isn't any fun. I live in a 4000 sq ft warehouse which I turned part of it into a house and the rest is workshops and stuff. I'm working with an expandable storage idea and will see how it goes. It will be interesting but fun also.

Karl,

How cool!! We turned a huge two story Amish style barn into a house. What fun to do. And challenging.

Keep us all posted on the progress. You might come up with the ultimate Storage location plan!!

Karl,

Just wanted to let you know that your store link in your signature produces an error and does not lead you to your store. Thought you may want to check it out.

Re: Zero'in quanity levers new [re: bluepennylady]

Judy,

It is a pretty basic plan actually. I use cardboard trays on sheilfs like probably pretty much everyone else. But instead of labeling each tray with what is in it, I gave it a number. When I need more space, I add more shelving and just move the boxes in order. Each item in the program that I am selling goes by the tray number it is located in, as the tray gets empty I just use it for something else by putting that tray number on the new item and put it in the tray. Not fully sure how it is going to work, but for now it looks like it should. Don't have to keep changing the discription on the tray, it just stays its number.
