Auction Site Area

Just wondering about entering information under the "categories, shipping options and Item Specifics" Tab.

I have items that will probably only be listed in my store however there may come a time that I want to list them as auctions.
My question is, do you have to fill in both areas of data, ie. eBay and eBay Stores to effectively accomplish this?

Is there an easy way to get the info in both places if you have to?

What would be the most effective way to handle this?

Any help would be appreciated?

Thanks

Re: Auction Site Area new [re: moonstruck22]

Marty,

So good to hear from you again!!!! MIssed seeing you around.

The answer is yes, the information must be completed for each auction site as eBay treats eBay auctions as a separate site from eBay Stores.

Shipping services can be overcome by profile setting defaults. You can even select default Store categories for Store and auction items.

Item specifics and Custom details must be added for each site individually.

Hope that helps a bit!

Judy,

Yea I have been sitting in the weeds watching the board and now I am back!!

I thought that was the case, your advice helps but creates more work for me!

Give me a quick refresher on setting all those defaults. I thought I had that working and I have noticed this a.m. that not every new inventory item is being prefilled by default.

Thanks!

On another note:

How does it work when you create an Auction Lot after you have used more than one Auction Site?

I don't ever think I have filled the information out for two separate sites within the inventory tab!

Re: Auction Site Area new [re: moonstruck22]

Marty,

Concerning changing Auction sites....

If you have a widget listed on eBay and you decided to change to the eBay stores, AW2000 looks at the category, Item specifics and Shipping details on the related Inventory Item first. If no fields contain values in the Inventory Item, then AW2000 will look at the Auction profile settings to see if there is anything there. If there is, then those values are filled in. If there is nothing there, you get fields which contain no values.

It sounds as if your Auction profile is not correctly configured. To see if that particular Auction profile, go to File | Auction Profiles. click "Edit Auction lot and shipping oprions".

You must select that particular Auction profile for the Auction lot in order for the default settings to appear.

I hope that makes sense.

Judy,

Well it was a combination of things, and I am not even going to get involved in trying to explain way too confusing!

I would just like to report it is working at the present!!

Thanks for the insight got me to look in all the right places to see the confusion.

Marty,

I am glad it is working correctly. Working now is better than not working at all.

Have a super evening!!!
