Carrying a credit forward
|
|
|
I just had a customer overpay shipping - because I forgot to combine shipping for 3 items :-(. I've told him he has a $3.00 credit and now I'm hoping there's a way for AW2K to remember that and carry it forward to a new invoice the next time he buys even if it's a few months from now.
Does anyone know if this is possible, and if it is how do you set it up?
Thanks, Glenda

It would be nice if this was automagic, but the only way that I've found is to put in the Buyer Notes field (which will stay with the Buyer.)

Here is how I hadle credits - just create a new auction lot called Credit- then add it to their invoice (or create a new invoice for them) and put in a negative amount for the total. The program will deduct it automatically from whatever their invoice is. Lenny

Thanks Lenny, I can see that would work but it seems a little clumsy for a program that's supposed to be invoice driven. Seems to me that a credit is just as much part of an invoice as a balance due -- both should be able to be carried forward and merged with a future invoice.
I hope Thom is putting this one on his "suggestion list to be considered"!

Once it is part of their invoice, it does carry through to future invoices.
