Hi Judy!

The discount shows up very well in the invoices and email with using the insurance field. I have been adding the discount after the invoice is built and before the payment so it doesn't need to be input in the auction lot information. People are really liking to see a little discount.

I thought that I might advertise a discount to bring in more sales but it didn't work that well. I have noticed that since I started showing the discount on the invoices that those with the discount have been repeat customers.

Hope everything is good with you and your family. Easter is coming up and the sun is shining most everyday here. The only thing I don't like about spring is the bugs :P

I've been using AW2K for almost 4 years and I still LOVE it! Just today I was basking in the wonderful feature of being able to apply 2 payments to one invoice. I just love it!

I was thinking about going back to eBay for a while after their last fee change. I did some figuring though and it really is just another fee increase in disguise. If I sell an item for $10 or more than the fees will be higher than before. Oh well.

Have a great day!

Hey there Girl!

Now it is sure good to hear from you! Wonder about you all the time...

I am glad to hear the discount showing up on the Invoice is working well for you.... People always like a discount...

The fee changes are causing all sellers to look at their bottom line and figure some fancy footwork to try and stay ahead... Not always easy to do. eBay's new algorithm for "Best Match" search is still not working correctly. Even using the same filters and criteria in a search at the same time but in different browser windows, yields completely different results. So it is challenging to determine how to best write your auction titles and descriptions to aid in producin higher search results.

Regardless, eBay still provides a huge market. And using Aw2000 sure makes it easy to create Invoices for customers that just email you.. Or the buyer that wins something and then responds to an AW2000 email and wants more "stuff".. Those kind of sales really help with the "ole bottom line"

Stay in touch. You are missed when you are not around!

Never thought of using the insurance field....but what if they want insurance?

I've had a system of discount coupons for about 5 years now, and I just enter them as an item - a regular invoice item can have a negative value - plus you can describe it however you'd like.

Then it's also calculated prior to tax..if applicable.

Hi,

If the buyer elects insurance, then the shipping cost field must be the total of shipping/handling and the insurance charge. The Invoice Follow up with Total amount due email template can be edited to include a tag line following that field value which states:

Insurance is included in Shipping cost

That is another good suggestion using a negative value Invoice item.. In fact, you could create a Stock Inventory Item for each discount coupon and simply add the Stock Inventory Item as an Invoice item. Then the "Auction Title line" could be written in advance appropriately describing the discount..

Rich:
I do the same thing with coupons. My repeat buyers usually get a coupon good on their next purchase. I enter it (each has a unique serial number) into an auction and the auction id is the serial number. When they redeem it I just add that auction as a minus into their invoice and the discount shows. Also I check it as not taxable so I don't forget just in case it is a FL buyer.

I've had good luck doing it this way and my customers like the coupon as all they have to do is take the discount in PayPal or send it along with payment. Either way they pay I just include it in the body of the invoice.
