Build 264 Lot update invoicing  

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem and/or what to do?

Since installing Build 264, when I update my auctions, the winning bidder's user ID shows but the auction shows as "off line" rather than "sold not shipped" and I am not given the the "generate invoices" choice.

If I try to Ctl-D I get the same result. If I select "generate invoices" I get the message "all sold auction lots have already been invoiced". I tried manually changing the status to "sold not shipped" and then invoicing but still get "all sold auction lots..."

Don't know what else to do :( Is it a glitch in the new build? I have been using AW for 8 years so I don't think it is a "newbie" thing ;)

HI,

Change the Auction lot status back to Online and try updating the auctions again.

More than likely eBay is not returning the buyer information in a timely fashion. Usually they return the information every two minutes but some days they are much slower.

If that does not work, let me know.

Hi Judy,

Thanks for the suggestion, I did try that earlier, sorry, didn't mention it in my post but I just tried it again and it DOES enter the winning biider's name but just switches the status back to "off line" again and still won't let me invoice :(

Barbara,

Go to the Auction lot, click on the "Buyers" tab.
Right click on the buyer's user id in the far left pane,
Select "Re-invoice" buyer

See if that works.

Hi Judy,

Aha! Good suggestion as it is helping get to the "grit" of the problem ;) And it may WELL be ebay...when I did as you suggested, the buyer wasn't there!

Let's see if I can explain this. When I "update lot" , the dialogue box appears afterwards that says the status that the auction has ended and shows "high bidder", however, as I said, status goes to "off line" rather than the usual "sold not shipped" and the "current high bidder" shows in the grayed out box below the left side of the auctions lots screen but does not download the info on the buyer tab, i.e., under buyer there it is blank.

By using the right-click "add buyer" function, I was able (from ebay's end of auction" email) to enter the buyer's email addy and the ending value of the auction. THEN I could create the invoice.

Lol, pain in the neck but sufficient to do what I need until ebay gets their act back together if it is an ebay issue.

Thanks so much for your help! It is a work-around at the moment but at least I can get my work done ;) Do you think I should report this to Thom in case it is something that AW isn't doing because of something ebay changed? Or perhaps it is, as you suggested, ebay just slow in updating?

Barbara,

You might email Thom about it. I suspect it is an eBay issue though. It happens to me from time to time. I have even had buyers that didnt show up on the auction page at eBay for as long as 15 minutes after the auction had ended. Then the buyer appeared and the auction moved from Unsold to Sold at eBay.

Sometimes eBay's servers are just like everyone elses.. Things just happen.
