Delivery Confirmation

If you are not already using them, the US Post Office has a free software utility that lets you have electronic delivery confirmation at no cost for priority mail, and for only $0.12 for Parcel Post and Priority Mail.

Exporting the information from Auction Wizard, however, is not a simple process since it must be first imported into excell, converted to a different data format, and then re-exported to the USPS postal Assistant software.

The good news is that the Post Office encourages third party developers to integrate the software into their web site / application . I'm hoping that auction software developers like Auction Wizard will integrate with it.

By using the free delivery confirmation labels, I am able to save $40.00 per week based on 100 delivery confirmations. That would make Auction Wizard pay for its self in less than a month for most users.

I would love to see a feature allowing me to export addresses to USPS Shipping Assistant, as well.

try www.endicia.com for $9.95 per month (plus postage) you can export your shipping address directly from auction wizard. print the postage including priority mail labels, and free delivery contirmation, and can drop your packages at the post office without waiting in line to buy postage.

I would love to see a way to import addresses to USPS Shipping Assistant! It would really simplify things.

Better yet - I'd like to see AW2k use the free USPS's API tools and handle the Priority Mail/Deliver Confirmation labels directly. Then, from AW2k, you can print labels, track shipments, figure postage, etc...

Just my 2 cents worth.

Re: Delivery Confirmation new [re: dbuttry]

Here's a solution to those of you (like me) that use
USPS Shipping Assistant to print/ship with Delivery
Confirmation:

You can IMPORT addresses into the Shipping Assistant.
BUT, the record format is DIFFERENT between Auction Wizard
and the Shipping Assistant.

So, you can reorganize the fields in Auction Wizard's
output file (.CSV) to make it work! :^) I did it!

First, view an Invoice you want to export the address of.
Then, Queue the shipping label. Next, from the Tools
menu, select Print Queued Labels. Then select Export.

NOW, you will have to follow this CLOSELY!

1. In the "Select and Order Address Fields To Export"
section, arrange the fields in this order:
A. Name
B. Blank Field
C. Address Line 2
D. Address Line 1
E. City
F. State
G. ZIP Code
H. Phone #
I. Email Address
J. Blank Field

Any items I did NOT specifically mention, leave UNCHECKED!

Then in the Options section, check ALL the check boxes.

NOW, you can export the record to whatever .CSV file
name floats your boat... :^)

This file will conform to the field arrangement requirements
of USPS Shipping Assistant...

Import the file into your Shipping Assistant Address book,
and you will no longer do the cuts and pastes twice like
I used to do.

In Action Wizard, once you have set the options in the Export
window, they can be left alone.

Hello,

Thank you so much for the Shipping Assistant info. Got everything to work, but what labels do you use? I followed the USPS links (several) and found USPS suggested vendor, Label Universe. Pretty expensive, compared to some I bought on ebay. Thanks in advance for your help

Could someone please post a link to this software utility. I've been on USPS for an hour looking for it, and I feel like I'm going in circles.
