Create a Fixed Price listing new

eBay has 5 cent listing on books, music, cd, etc. until March 30, 2010 for fixed price listings.
What is a fixed price listing?
Can AW create a fixed price listing. If so how is that done.
Thank you.

Good Evening,

Absolutely. No sweat at all.

When you create an Auction lot, instead of using the "Start price" field, use the "Buy Now" price field. You can change the duration to whatever you want.

Be sure to select a category that is eligible for the $0.05 listing. And the profile needs to be for the eBay site not eBay stores,

Does that help?

Re: Create a Fixed Price listing [re: bluepennylady]

Judy,
Thanks for the info on how to do a fixed price auction.
eBay offers a lisintg fee of 5 cents for books and music until 3/31. To get the 5 cents rather than 15 cents you have to use the product detail area.
Does AW provide entry data for product detail?
For example, I listed (via eBay- yucck!!) a book. When I selected the category Books: non fiction I could enter the ISBN and it provided some information on my listing.
My listing was entered as 5 cents.
I have about 100+ record albums to list and saving $10 would help but not at the cost of trying tp list with eBay and not AW.
I think that maybe with eBay product detail you may have to do a selection if they give you a list. I do not think AW can do that.
Thanks,
Bob Blaney

HI

I am glad that helped.

AW2000 does not currently support the pre-filled information database eBay is using.

And isn't listing with eBay's SEll your Item form a pain in the sitting down part

Judy,
Thanks for the info. I kind of thought that AW did not support.
And yes eBay listing is a royal PITA.
I have used AW for years and it is so easy to list many items. I like the duplicate ability. I set up a listing template and duplicate it. Then I add a picture and some description words and away we go!!

HI

I love the "duplicate" Auction lot or Inventory Item too! We use it every single day numerous times! And I like being able to hit list all auctions, select the profile, click list all lots and leave it alone so I can do something else while AW2000 is listing for me.

Re: Create a Fixed Price listing new [re: bluepennylady]

Hey Judy, I have a related question to this thread.

I just upgraded my Store subscription to take advantage of the free month+a few days before the $49.95 fee kicks in, so I can list some old Store items as Fixed Price and have them come up in core searches (at least that's how I think it's going to work; please correct me if I'm wrong -- this is all so confusing).

Here's what the announcement said: "Take advantage of a special limited time offer just for Stores
subscribers: List in Fixed Price now—before the March 30 fee change--for just 10¢! February 2 - March 29"

What I still don't get is exactly how to list a Fixed Price item in my upgraded Store. You replied to Bob in December that he should use his auction-style listing Profile and just insert the price in the Buy Price field instead of the Starting Bid field, but is that right for the current situation? After April 1, there will no longer be Store Inventory listings, but right now, do I continue to use my Stores Profile to list a Fixed Price item?? Or do I use my auction-style listing Profile??

Thanks a bunch, Sue

Re: Create a Fixed Price listing new [re: tictictic_OnEbay]

Sue

When the format changes all Store listings will automatically be moved to the Fixed price and the insertion fee will be billed to the seller's account based on the subscription plan of their choice.

A Premium store means the fixed price insertion fee is $0.05 per listing.

The Store formatting is still intact right now. So it costs $0.03 or $0.05 to list items in the store depending on the fixed price. But store listings do not serve up in the regular eBay search.

So if you want to create Fixed price listings, you can do a couple of things.

1.) Use your regular eBay auction profile. move the price you want to sell the item for into the Buy Price field. And change the qty to whatever it needs to be. And select the duration you want. I would strongly recommend you refrain from using GTC ...

2.) Create an eBay Auction profile that is named Fixed price and move what Store listings you want to move to Fixed price to that profile. You will still need to adjust the duration to whatever works for you.

Does that help?

Re: Create a Fixed Price listing new [re: bluepennylady]

Yes, it helps!! As always. You're a godsend.

Re the GTC duration -- I've been methodically ending my Store Inventory listings to keep them from rolling over. Every day, I set my timer multiple times just so I can go in and stop the dozen or so listings a couple minutes before they would automatically roll over for another 30 days. I had 600 GTC listings; now I'm down to about 250. I'm still relisting some as 30-day listings but beyond March 31st, who knows??

Sue

I am very glad that helped.

Using "GTC" listings has some ramifications beyond just the fee issue. It does impact search results .. So it is a good thing to change the duration to 30 days or less. 30 days gets the most bang for the buck for Fixed price.
