ebay duplicated auctions new

Any help with my very strange experience on ebay would be appreciated.

I woke up Saturday morning to find that an item sold that had already ended earlier in the week. Ebay had somehow relisted the item. I could not find the duplicated auction anywhere in AW2K. Fortunately, I was able to find another one of that particular item to ship.

Then last night:

I had an ebay item end with no bids.

Inside AW2K I changed the status from offline to queued for listing and lowered the price. I then launched the auction.

This morning, I get an email from ebay about a duplicate auction.

I search for the pulled auction inside the AW "auction lots" tab using title and then auction item #. It is NOT inside AW2K.

There is ONE listing in AW2K for that item that is still online and it reads as it should (that it was listed once in April, on Nov. 13th and Nov. 22)

THE FACTS:

I do not use the "inventory items" tab in AW2K at all.

AW2K is the only way I launch auctions.

It is a 7 day fixed price listing.

When listing these, I am 100% sure that the item I am listing is the only one of that item I have, so there is no way I would have duplicated the auction, hoping to sell two of them.

On my ebay seller list, two identical auctions are shown with listing times of about 2 minutes apart. In my account, these same two listings are listed about 2 minutes apart.

Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?
Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve

I use to have that happen to me all of the time Meaning two of the same auction lots going online at eBay when there was only one in AW2K.

The issue was me

During the listing process if the listing dialog box disappeared,, I had incorrectly presumed something had happened .. So I clicked "List all Lots" again..

Whatever Auction lot was currently listing, would list again.. So two of the same lot went online.

I don't know if during the listing process if you have accidentally clicked the "List all Lots" or "List Lots" buttons, but it will certainly cause the problem..

What happens on some computers is during the listing process if you do anything on the computer, the listing dialog box drops behind AW2K, You can't see it.. If you give it a minute it will appear back ontop of AW2K like it should be..

I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the input bluepennylady! I am pretty sure that is what happened. I remember burying the dialog box and a few minutes later uncovering it and thinking hmmmm... what is this? Have to make sure I keep it on top, so it doesn't happen again. Thanks!

Hi ..

just remember that once you have started the listing process. don't click the "List all lots" or List lot" buttons again .. The lister may move behind AW2000 if you do anything else on the computer.. But it will pop back up again in a minute...

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
