Shipping & Handling FREE - ???

Hi All,

One of my Store items just sold, and when I clicked to view the auction or.....something....sorry, can't remember, was just doing routine things. Anyway, I got a page that says shipping & handling is free, but the auction clearly states the fixed price of $3.00 at the top of the page and again at the bottom.

The page is titled eBay Order Details. You have to be signed in to view the page, so here's a screenshot: http://members.dslextreme.com/users/emailshere/FREES&H.jpg

Does anyone know if there's a setting I need to tweak? Some Preference that's telling eBay all my shipping is free?

Thanks, Sue

Sue,

An Canadian buyer won the Auction. It looks like you had a Flat Rate for Domestic but nothing for International??

Do you ship Internationally? I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. Flat rate for Domestic and I did not enter in anything for International. I didn't even offer international services on the auction lot. eBay tech told me if I wanted an International charge to appear, then I needed to add it into the specified costs. otherwise, It looked like Free shipping on the International.

You might get hold of Live Help and see if they can correct the invoice details on eBay... I think t is happening becaus eBay is so hot and heavy with the new Free Shipping campaign.

There was a glitch not too long ago with the same thing too Free shipping showing up on Auctions. So letting Live help know will at least prod someone to look. Maybe the bug jumped back up again.

Yeah, I ship internationally. I never enter anything for international shipping -- just lazy and didn't think it mattered. I have a blurb in my auctions that says international buyers pay actual postage plus $3 (although, I almost never actually charge the whole three dollars).

Ok, I'll contact eBay. I'm not too worried about this invoice -- the buyer already Paypalled (if that's not a word, it should be) the total due. But I will start paying attention to the intnl shipping fields. Grrr. More stuff to fill in.

Thanks, Sue

Sue,

It might just be a glitch on eBay's part,, which wouldn't be unusual. Last week I ran auctions for which there was domestic flat rate but not for International. And the International buyers contacted me for shipping costs. Prior to that < I had the "Free"Shipping blurped show up on the checkout for an International buyer.

Letting eBay know , even if they won't admit there is a problem right off, will at least get someone to look at it..
