Re: EBay: Shipping Dictator new [re: bluepennylady]

Sue, everyone, FYI,

Sue I was browsing your auctions concerning the shipping thing and noticed that you didn't have a Return Policy Specified. As of September 1st, eBay started requiring it!
They are yanking auctions that don't, ask me how I know!
You would think that they would spend their time more on things that really matter, shipping calculator, etc.
Anyway, I realized that you need to mark that box in the listing window, for them to acknowledge the policy.

Just thought I would pass this reminder along.

Judy,

I do now.........

Actually I always have, and never have had too!
But I offer money back within 7 days, no shipping costs either direction, and ONLY if the item was not as described.

Always thought that that might get people to buy but not sure about that either!

As mentioned I have never had to accept a return. It might be the shipping clause. You know when they go down to the local shipper and find out that we really did have to pay 9.95 shipping not the 8.25 we charged them!!

Re: EBay: Shipping Dictator new [re: moonstruck22]

Marty,

I have been on the phone with eBay Trust & Safety concerning another issue.. So we made some inquiries about the "Return Policy"....

Here is what Richie from Trust & Safety told me..

If you do not accept returns, then do not check the "Returns accepted" checkbox.. HOwever, your Auction description must include the full content of your Return policy.. IN our case, our Listing template footer or Terms of Sale fields are quite sufficient.

So if you have a "No Returns" policy, then write out that "No returns are accepted" in the Listing template and don't check the REturns accepted checkbox.

I did suggest eBay consider offering more than one option as the Item page is really kind of confusing.. If the seller does not accept returns, the "Return policy" section states:

Return Policy
Return policy not specified see item description.

And then eBay has a Return policy must be specified policy. It is a real contradiction... So I did suggest they consider adding another Return policy option "No returns" or something along that line.. Because that is a return policy...

Anyway,,, that is what I found out this morning.
