Confused about fixed Price & Ebay store listing new

I don't think I understand how to list Ebay store items since the recent change to fixed price listing.

I've listed some items with the new 30 day for $.35 promotion. I created a new profile for those and listed them with a buy price. I left the starting bid window blank and selected a 30 day duration. All went well and they listed fine so I suppose I did that correctly.

I know if I put a bid price and buy price then it is an auction with BIN. But how do I now list items in my Ebay store for 30 days? Isn't the way I did the fixed price listings the way we used to do Ebay store items? Or am I confusing something here with the listing types or the profiles in AW?

And then there also the best offers option. I'm not sure I understand how its all supposed to work anymore or how we set up and use AW2000 to work with all the options. Anyone know what I'm talking about and able to help?

Thank you.

HI,

No worries. It can be easy to get confused.

You need not create another profile for using Fixed Price in the regular core auctions. You move the price from the "STart price" to the "Buy Price" and add whatever qty you want. ADjust the duration to 30 days. Leave the profile your regular "Ebay" profile. The Auction lot is now configured for Fixed price at the $0.35 insertion fee.

A store listing must be configured using your eBay Store Auction profile. That is 30 days and the listing insertion fee is $0.03 for whatever qty.

Does that help?

Thanks Judy/blue!

I guess I got confused because I use several profiles in AW for listing on the core ebay site. It makes it easier for me sort, search, duplicate auctions, & etc. I can keep track of things much easier given the way to do my listings.

I'm not required to use those profiles but for Ebay stores I am because Ebay stores listings are handled like another Auction site would be, hence the need for another profile.

Ok.. I think I see it now!

Hi,

All the changes can be quite overwhelming and confusing.

You are correct, eBay stores is just like listing on a different site.

The eBay auctions side has more than one method to list. Auctions which can run 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 days.
You can add a reserve price or a Buy It Now price.

If you put a Start price in with a qty greater than one, then it is a Dutch Auction.

If you want to list using the Fixed price, then move the price you want for the item from the Start price to the Buy Price and change the duration to whatever you want including GTC (good til cancelled).

Using Auction profiles for different things is actually a very good idea to keep things in order. That's one of the perks of AW2000 and one reason unlimited Auction profiles are supported.

Remember that starting Oct 1, if you offer Free Shipping on any auction, core, Fixed or Store, you get double discounts off the FVF... Plus a free sub-title. until Dec 31, 2008.

I hope that helps. If it doesn't or you still have questions. Please don't hesitate to ask. You are not the only one getting a tad confused about all the changes.
