API Error 240

I've tried until the last hair was pulled to resolve this eBay API error code 240. I've looked through the logs and found little to nothing. Anyone else suffering like myself?

HI

When are you receiving the API error. ? During an update or listing process?

Re: API Error 240 new [re: borrisl]

I haven't listed anything for a few months and now I am getting this error also. I thought maybe my credit card needed updating so I did that. I checked with eBay online chat. They said my account is OK, and said I should try a direct listing without using 3rd party software, but I shudder at the thought. So I have no idea why I am getting the error 240 either. Has eBay recently (within the past 6 months) changed their policy to prohibit all hyperlinks? That's the only other thing I can think of. I tried relisting an item I successfully listed in the past and got the same error.

Hi

Run Aw2K,

On the menu click File > Program Options
On the misc section in the lower right hand corner, check
"Generate HTTP log"

Attempt to list Auction lots

When the error occurs, Stop the listing process

Attach the HTTPlog.txt and Listinglog.txt to an email and send it to me.

You will find the HTTP and Listing log files by going to Windows explorer, expanding Computer,
Expand the C Drive
Click on the AW2000 folder.

The log files are listed in the preview right hand side in alphabetical order.

After you have sent the log files, Go back to File > Program options and uncheck "Generate HTTP log".

eBay always suggests you use their tools over what you use. I wouldn't use an eBay tool if they paid me to...

Ok. Got the fix. You can not have any payment description in your templates. Thanks Judy.

HI

You are welcome... It is really difficult sometimes to keep up with the changes.

Glad we got you fixed up!
