Same here; Just watched 21 of 21 listings fail with the same error:

API Error Code 21916389: Missing required maximum dispatch time.

Some of these were re-lists of items that just closed yesterday.

I changed some of the listing options by just clicking things randomly and then they listed.

I did set them all back to what I wanted so that was fine.

Thanks,

Steve

HI all

You are now required to display the time within you plan to ship the item(s) after receipt of payment.

YOu will find that setting in the Shipping options on each Auction lot.

Domestic handling time x business days...

Does that help?

Thanks, Judy, that fixes the listing warnings, but why do we have to make that selection for each and every Lot?

In Profiles, there's a setting for this (I just now set all four active Profiles), but as far as I can tell, it doesn't kick in automatically. However, I'm doing relists, so maybe it will kick in for newly-created Lots -- ??

Sue

P.S. Isn't it just so annoyingly typical of Help files in general and eBay in particular that when you enter "maximum dispatch time" in the Help Search box, you get, "Sorry, we didn't find anything."

Sue,

The settings in the Auction Profiles will apply to Auction lots when they are created from Inventory Items that do not have Shipping options selected.

Applying the change to the Profile will effect all subsequent Auction lots when they are created but it is not retroactive. Those fields are not Hot. Meaning changes made to the Profile Shipping options does not change Auction lots that are already created.

You can apply changes to Shipping options in Grid view by highlighting all records you want to change, right click and select "Change shipping options for x profile"...

And I have no earthly idea why in the world eBay decided to select "dispatch time" when the site uses domestic handling time" everywhere. It is like them using "Tracking numbers" when it really is just delivery confirmation

Re: Listing error - API error code new [re: bluepennylady]

This works great for some auctions, not so great for others. If I had separate Profiles for Flat Rate and Calculated shipping, it would work to update the settings in Grid View, but my main auction ID defaults to Flat Rate, First Class, and then I change the shipping to calculated as needed. So if I use the Grid View to alter them all -- to set the "Dispatch Time" (yeah, that's a pretty odd term) -- it will "erase" all my calculated shipping settings, and that would be a disaster (would have to re-weigh and re-measure a lot of stuff). So I'm stuck with doing this "manually" for relists.

Thanks, eBay, we all needed yet another setting to slow down the listing process. And do they really think someone will base their decision to bid on the seller's "dispatch" policy? The only time this could possibly make a difference, it seems to me, is where there are numerous sellers all offering the exact same, new products, and the bidder is shopping for the quickest turnaround.

And if I set mine for 5 days (I never, ever wait that long), will my Feedback reflect how tickled the buyer is when I ship the same day I get their Paypal payment? Hah!

Sue,

Do this... Which is what I do.

On every Profile I have, I set up a calculated default completing all the field.
Close it out,

Then go back to the Shipping options again and this time choose "Specify Flat Rate for this profile" And set it up too.

Regardless of what you change to, there is always a default. I do it all the time

Too cool, Judy!!!

Who knew??? (probably everyone but me. Errrr)

All you have to do after setting it up this way is select Flat or Calculated.

As always, thanks so much!

Sue,

Yep, I set up the Flat rate for my Bluepennylady eBay profile. Then went back and decided to setup the Calculated.

Got curious one day just to see if the Flat rate was still there. And yep it is... So I have configured both. ONe of course is hidden but it is still there
