$0.10 Fixed Price insertion fee sale STore owners

Hi all

eBay announced a Fixed Price Insertion fee sale for Store owners.
Feb 2 until March 29, 2010, move listings to Fixed price and get exposure now before the new fee structure March 30, 2010.

Here is the link to the announcement.

http://announcements.ebay.com/

Now to change your eBay profile Auction lots to eBay store Auction lots, you can do it in Grid View.

Just select the records you wish to change, right click and select Change Auction Profile

AND not only that but you can also change the price to the "Buy Price" which is a must for Fixed Price in the Grid view as well.

Just select the records that need the price changed. And right click. You can remove the "Start price". add a "buy price" to a specific value..

How easy is that!

List, list, list. Happy AW2000 sales!

Re: $0.10 Fixed Price insertion fee sale STore owners new [re: bluepennylady]

Hi Bluelady!

So, any thoughts about how the 3/30 changes will affect aw2k?

The big one I've been pondering is that after 3/30, all existing store inventory will automatically convert to fixed price. For what might be thousands of GTC listings - what's the easiest way to transition these within AW2K?

My first thought was that you could import them - which is kinda messy and does not create good aw2k records (at least for me).

With this .10 sale, I'm thinking of moving as many items out of store as possible (after 3/30 it will only be .05 for premium store owners) - and moving the rest into fixed after 3/30. Basiclaly, by 3/30, have no store inventory format items to convert.

What do you think?

Re: $0.10 Fixed Price insertion fee sale STore owners new [re: Tradeguy]

Hi back at ya!

It is good to hear from you.

I am moving a bunch of my store inventory to Fixed price as well for the $0.10 insertion fee sale. I am thinking "Why not! it currently costs $0.35 . So the sale is roughly a third of the cost so I can list 3 times more stuff And I have stuff to list that is for sure!

If you own a store there will be little to do. Store owners as long as they continue to subscribe, will still have a subscription. The insertion fees for Store listings depend on the store subscription level. eBay is simply removing the separation in search results between store inventory and the auction//fixed price search results. Store inventory will be automatically moved to Fixed price search results. STore owners will still list in their Store.

At least that is the way I understood the announcement.

IF the "eBay store" auction profile is no longer needed ,, and we will be unable to "use" that profile type to list, it will be a matter of just selecting records in the Grid view and changing the Auction lot records to the appropriate Auction profile.

The basic store costs $0.20 to list items in the Fixed price format.
Premium is $0.05
Anchor costs $0.03.

Store listings will receive full site search function (which should have always been in my opinion)

Store owners Auction style listing format insertions fees have been reduced. $1.00 to $9.99 will be $0.25 instead of $0.35.

It looked like to me that sellers who did not have a store subscription would be paying $0.50 to list in Fixed price formatting.

If you have durations set to GTC, you can change the duration in the Grid view by selecting records and selecting Change duration That part is easy.

AS far as changing the duration on the live listings on eBay, the Bulk editor doesn't appear to have the ability to alter the duration. I don't know of anything to do but to end the GTC store listings in bulk, change the duration on AW2K and relist again with the 30 day duration.

Hummm, I'll have to think if there is a better way to handle the GTC...

Who else uses GTC. I don't use GTC at all. So I am thinking off the top my head here which could be dangerous to all those around me

Re: $0.10 Fixed Price insertion fee sale STore owners new [re: bluepennylady]

The most details I've seen are here:
http://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/news/FeeUpdate2010.html

"Make sure your Store Inventory Format listings have been reviewed, edited as needed, and ready to become Fixed Price listings in core search results. Continue to liquidate any listings you don't want to continue. All Store Inventory Format listings will become Fixed Price listings and automatically renew at the new rates starting March 30."

There will be no store inventory format at all. Stores will become a subscription that (1) reduces the cost of fixed price listings, and (2) gives sellers the ability to organize their listings into custom categories with custom storefront pages.

So I'm not really sure how aw2k will be impacted. A regular ebay profile will work for all listings - and if you have a store, you'll have the added ability to put items into store categories - which already exists in aw2k ebay profiles. So probably no reason to even have "ebay store" profile types at all - in fact, they probably won't work after 3/30 anyway.

I upgraded my store to a premium after I worked the numbers. I was already running a good number of fixed (at .35), plus store at .03. By upgrading to the $50/month store, my total listing fees for everything I list now will only increase slightly - and give me all my items as core fixed priced listings. Not a bad deal at all for the extra exposure.

Just about all my listings are GTC - both fixed price and store - and you can't change the durations in either format. For store GTC, you can end them in "bulk", but fixed still need to be ended individually.

The most dangerous situation is someone with many GTC store inventory listings, with a basic store, that might not realize that every one of their listings will be "upgraded" to fixed price and will automatically renew at .20 each. For 1,000 listings, their monthly listings will go from $30 to $200.

Based on everything I've read (be sure to check out all the links on the URL), after 3/30 there is just auctions and fixed price. So something is going to change in the API for aw2k.

My biggest concern is that if I have 200 GTC store items suddenly become GTC fixed price items, how will aw2k see them? Will they still be accessible as "store" inventory during updates? Will the "bleed over" into my regular ebay profile and get grouped with my regular fixed priced profile? All things I don't want to test...LOL.

My plan is to have as many items as possible already as fixed price (using this wonderful .10 sale), and on 3/29, I will kill all of my remaining store inventory items - which can be done in bulk very easily on the ebay side.

I then move anything I still want to list from my aw2k store profiles to regular ebay profiles, and relist as fixed price as needed.

I think this will avoid any aw2k complications.

Re: $0.10 Fixed Price insertion fee sale STore owners new [re: Tradeguy]

HI

I upgraded my store to Premium as well. I was considering the upgrade anyway. The way I list, the fee changes are not going to negatively impact us much at all. We just approach the listing differently to manage the costs.

Thanks for the links. I have read it I bet 10 times and each time something else pops out I guess I my thinking was although there was no "Store format" the Store profiles would still work "IF" the seller had a store subscription. Just as it does now.

I see the same issue with sellers using GTC listings. That could be a costly error to overlook ending listings.

Re: $0.10 Fixed Price insertion fee sale STore owners new [re: bluepennylady]

I guess it all depends on how aw2k lists from a store profile. What I mean is....right now, a store profile can only list "store inventory format" - which won't exist after 3/30.

I figured that you can't list fixed price right now using store format - so if that doesn't change, you won't be able to list at all using a store profile after 3/30 since it will be using an invalid format...

Re: $0.10 Fixed Price insertion fee sale STore owners new [re: Tradeguy]

HI

That is probably the right thinking.

We will have to see how it shakes out. Right now, I am gonna make hay while the sun shines, list my stuff in the Fixed price $0.10 sale, move seasonal goods (like Christmas and Halloween product as well as our wholesale product) from eBay to Bonanzle.

At least we have two full months to get the changes implemented in our business models.

Here's to many sales!!!

Hey All,

In trying to sort this change out I am wondering why the excitement for the .10 Fixed price sale? I know it is cheaper then the current rate but why would you pay the additional .07 right now, rather than to just list in the store for .03? Is it all for the exposure in the search? Which is a big thing I know, but is that the reason?
I understand that is a great reason, just wanting to know if i am missing something else!

Marty

It is only the savings right now compared to the current fee of $0.35.

About the only fixed price we are listing are lots that are 10 or so. If all of them sell that is only $0.01 per item for listing. And the stuff we have listed in Fixed price sells better than Store listings. So I figured for the money I ought to go ahead and try to sell the stuff rather than sitting on it

And it is really super good to see you around!
