automated emails

Does anyone know if there's a way to stop the emails that eBay automatically sends for you? Are my buyers getting emails from eBay and me....that can be frustrating! I can't find a way to stop them, so I just put my message in the "Winning Buyer Notification" in my eBay. What does everyone else do? Alot of times I don't think buyers even read the emails from AW2000....I think Sue was talking about this recently.....thanks for any input!

Hi MIckey

In your "My eBay > Account > Communication preferences,, are the options to disable etc different email communications.

Do not discount how many buyers do read the AW2000 emails... There are probably far more reading them than you can imagine,

However, if you don't believe your emails are being read, then change the first opening line to something compliments the buyer, calls them to some sort of action such as verifying all is correct so their goody will arrive to them quickly.. If you put that sort of information in the lower portion of the email, then it might not be read.. But at the top,, better shot.

Just a thought...

Hi Judy!
When I go to the ebay account communication....alot of the email notifications are grayed out...I can't disable them.....I thought eBay sent the "you won" email with the amount they owe, automatically.....plus some others.....I would rather send the AW2000 emails that I have...the only problem I have sometimes is with the invoice....buyers seem to trust eBays invoice more than mine!

Thanks!

Yeah, some are grayed out.. You have to click into all areas to find how to manage some of those.. And some are in the Site preferences as well.

Don't discount how much traction the AW2K will gain you in terms of returning buyers.. If you will notice how some buyers will enter in feedback comments about your excellent communication ... That isn't becuase of eBay's email reminders... That is because you were emailing them using AW2K..

And again, if you do not think your email templates are encouraging buyers to reply back to the AW2K email, then change the opening line or two and see if the response level increases.. you will have to determine what goal(s) you are wanting and then decide how to reach the goa.

My particular goad -- is to increase direct contact (and sales) as well as to cultivate repeat business.

Something you might try doing,,, Instead of sending a total amount due invoice,, send a thank you for shopping with me.. Then tell the buyer that you have more of this particular item if they are interested.. Or you have a great belt that will look dynamite with it etc if they are interested..

You'll be surprised how many buyers will email back and say hey thank you, yes I would like another one...
or thank you no..

But you know they are getting your emails..

Nope you don't want to indundate the buyer's with unnecessary email communication. But you are not. you are providing necessary information as well as opening up the communication lines..

YOu will rarely find someone who is grippey and minds getting friendly, helpful, personal attention emails. People love to be acknowledged, remembered and their concerns addressed.

you can do it.. And yes we did another huge project before Thanksgiving.. ARe we brain dead or what! We were mopping the floor on th enewly finished closed in back porch until 1 am Thursday morning.. I am a glutton for punishment..
