New User questions

Can you copy ALL name and address fields at one time? Example Can I copy the following with one copy command
First last name
Street address
City st zip
So I can manually use partial sheets of address labels? OR Can I paste the above information into the buyer fields with one paste? Not having to paste the name, then the st address, theen the city, etc. I was trying to do this thru the database record per an answer on a previous post.

The Database Record Panel provides access to your Invoices and Auction Lots from within Email Reader and Email Editor windows. The panel has two tabs, each with its own toolbar. The buttons for switching tabs are on the right end of the toolbars. I CAN NOT FIND THIS--Database recond Panel? I used Help and went to the Database record panel -- I am still missing something.

Is there...Address type field that is –not actually part of the address—but stored with that data, so when you enter the id of a previous buyer that information is shown on the current invoice? I need a field with 25 characters.

Delete images after X days—I am assuming that the image is not deleted if item is an inventory item and or relisted?

List lots queue lots for listing (highlighted lots), list lots, list all lots, automatic --only one of the auctions will list.

When listing auctions all internet connections are closed—when uploading pictures.

Total Due—when offering 2 shipping options, how do you change the balance due? Re compute shipping charges did not change balance due---resend invoice and then delete it? When I change the shipping amount the total due soed not change,

I appreciate your help. I have only been using the program a few days.

Re: New User questions new [re: rrhistory]

Hi there,

Welcome. I am glad you posted your questions 'cause if you have them, others will as well.

Copying names and addresses---Are you trying to get the name and address into an Invoice? Or into the shipping label queue so you can print the address label?

The Database record panel is a button on the top toolbar of the email reader. It is a closed hand with the first finger pointing to what looks like a sheet of paper with something written on it. When you place your mouse over the icon, the tool tip appears "Database record panel". When you click it, the Invoice records will appear in the lower section of the window. So your screen will be split in half. The upper part displaying the opened email and the lower portion displaying the first Invoice record. Now the displayed Invoice is not necessarily associated with the email you are working on. More about that later. Don't want to overload you

The Buyer's User Id is automatically stored in the Invoice and Auction lot when you go through the update process. Look on the Invoice on the 3rd tab to the right of the "Buyer" tab. The User id is stored there. It is also stored on the Auction lot on the Buyer tab as well as the Bid History tab. If you need to add information to an Invoice, you can always use the "Notes" tab or the User defined field if you like. You access the User Defined fields 1, 2 and 3 by simply hitting the scroll bar along the bottom of the Invoice page. That will move the page over to display fields that are not seen because of screen resolution. Hope that makes sense.

The Delete Images is not deleting Images from your database. That is for web space management. Auction wizard will delete images from your web space after auctions have sold and are no longer needed. You can select a different length of time if you so choose. But no images are deleted from you database. Just your web space.

Listing lots? After your auction lots are queued for listing, you'll need to select the automatic method. If you select "List Lot" only the auction lot displayed will list. Then you have to hit "list lot" again. If you want them all to list, you have to change Listing methods to Automatic. Then they will all list for you.

What do you mean "all Internet connections are closed"? In order to upload images or list, you must have Internet connectivity. If you aren't online, AW2000 can't list or update.

To post changes to an Invoice, after you have edited the Shipping charge and/or insurance, click the checkmark on the toolbar. That is like a save button and the total amount due will change. Give that a try.

Hope that helps some.

HI, again,

About the listing issue:

Would you please tell me what version of AW2K you are using? Go to Help | About The build and version will be displayed. Please let me know.
