Fixed Price Fee changes 8-20-08
|
|
|
HI, All,
Lorrie Norrington released an announcement today concerning the new fee structure for Fixed Price listings.. It is a fairly lengthy announcement with lots of details..
The highlight is Fixed PRice listings will now be only .35 in some categories running for 30 days in the core auctions (not the store auctions) So now you can list product for 30 days not only in the Store format but also Fixed Price.
However, there is a trade off.. In some categories and price points the Final Value Fees (FVF) have increased a great deal. And in some categories the first tier has decreased..
Here is a link to Lorrie's announcement.

I just spent some considerable time modifying listings for the new fee structure (including free shipping - which has some real bonuses), and did some test multi-quantity fixed price listings.
They all worked fine - I only did 4 to make sure the fees were, in fact, .35 - which they were.
But to my dismay, Ebay does not appear to allow bulk editing of the "duration". You have to go thru the dreaded, bulky, and slow SYI interface on each one to get the 30-day durations.
This is not something I would want to do with a few hundred listings :-)
So I guess I'll wait for the AW2K upgrade that I just know Thom is working on this very moment....

HI,
Nope eBay has not yet released the bulk editing duration yet. In fact, there are numerous changes which will be released over the course of the next few days and weeks. Today is suppose to be when everything was released but everything didn't make it. Which is to be expected with this radical of a change.
Yep AW2000 tech is working on the 30 day support. I am not going to list anything either until the update is released. It is way too hard to edit the listings one at a time on the SYI form..
So here we are waiting, waiting, waiting I can only say I am glad I am not the programmer.. I kind of feel sorry for the third party software providers. eBay has not been playing nice with API releases to any of them lately.

Can we bulk edit in AW2000 moving store items to the new fixed price 30 day program or do we have to do it individually.
If we can bulk edit, how do we do that?
Thanks

HI,
YOu can change the duration to 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 30 or GTC in bulk by going to the Grid View, highlight the records you are wanting to go to Fixed price. Right click,
Select "Change duration | For eBay"... Choose either the 30 or GTC whichever format you are going to use.
YOu can also change the STart price to the buy PRice in bulk using the same method.
The Buy Price can be changed to a set value, adding x dollars or subtracting x dollars OR to zero.
Be SURE to have the "Start Price" field blank and the "Buy PRice" field to have the price in it or it wont qualify for Fixed Price.
Does that help?

Good Morning!
You are just so welcome.
Lots of users don't know editing can be done in the Grid View. You can even queue auction lots for listing in the grid view in bulk.
If you look in the Grid View on the left hand side, right on the divider bar, there are three little tool icons. Arrows pointing out, two hands hiding, and arrows pointing in.
The last set of arrows when you put your mouse on them, have the tool tip "Queue for listing"
If you select multiple records for listing, just click that button and they will all Queue for Listing at one time. Really fast..
Glad I could help. Have fun listing!

Mickey,
Yes the Grid View is a time saver. I use Grid View all of the time in all three windows, Inventory Items , Auction lots and Invoices.
