I've read the help over and over and over. I'm trying to get a total of my inventory value, and understand I need to do a DBCalc to do so. I can create the box, get the "sum" feature, but nowhere can I find how to "make" the calculation refer the the database field of "item cost". The help files say to click on the edit toolbar to associate the DBCalc with the correct field, but there is nothing there to that effect. I cannot type in the DBCalc box to reference it.

Yes you can do that.. No problem.

Instead of adding the "TotalValue" field below the details band, add it inside of band. I use the Inventory List report for just that purpose.
