Re: website ultimate dummy new [re: sarah]

Sarah,

You are not going crazy at all...

When you Queue an Auction lot for listing, the dialog box has those two options available...

So go to the Auction lots tab.. Click on "Auction Site" on the menu
Select "Queue lot for listing"
The Queue lot for listing has those two options on it.

Do you already have AW2000 configured websites set up in the AW2000 program?

If not, you need to do that first.

Re: website ultimate dummy new [re: sarah]

Sarah,

No worries... I know it may seem hard but once you get the hang of it.... it is super cool and easy to do..

Okie dokie... You have configured your AW2000 websites in AW2K by going to "File | Configure Websites" on the menu??

You need to select a website thumbnail template AND a website lot template (that is if you are going to use Lot pages) You don't have to use Lot pages if you don't want too. And it might be easier to not use them at first.. YOu can always add them later...

So just find one, duplicate it and then rename it the name of one of your AW2K configured websites..

You can edit the colors, font etc... And if you have decided NOT to use the Lot page, then uncheck the lot page option on the AW2K configured website on the "File } Configure website.. IT is down on the left about half way. "Use lot page" I think is the text. Just don't check it and the Lot pages won't upload. We can add them later if you want so don't worry about it.

AFTER you have edited the website thumbnail page to suit you, then you will assign that website thumbnail page to the AW2K website as the page to use.. So go back to "File | configure website"

Select the website on the left, then on the right hand side, Thumbnail template page, click the drop down and select your newly edited WEbsite thumbnail page.. Now AW2K knows which template to use.

the next field is the thumbnail page name... After you complete that field, you will see the URL appear in the bottom box, That is the URL you will need on your website for a hyperlink.. That is the clickable line that takes you to the AW2K thumbnail pages after you upload them..... We will talk about "uploading" here in a minute..

Now you have to tell AW2K which Auction lots you want to upload to your website. You do that when you are queueing the Auction lots for listing.. So if you have stuff already listed, you can Queue them again. Or just wait until you list again and when you are queueing auction lots then add them to the AW2K configured websites.

After you have finished the listing process AND you have AW2K configured websites, there will appear a prompt asking if you want to update your website now..Just click Yes if you do or No if you don't... If you want to upload the website(s) later you can by going to "Tools | Update websites"....... on the menu. You can have as many AW2K websites as you
want.

does that help at all? If not, let me know and I will try again.

Re: website ultimate dummy new [re: sarah]

Sarah,

Do you have all that text and logo in each description field of AW2000? Meaning is the payment terms etc in every single description field?

Or is the logo and the payment terms in a header and a footer?

You link to your eBay store is added when you are editing the thumbnail template. Click in the left pane where you want the link to appear in the order. On the menu find "Add page component of type "Other Hyperlink".... It is there you can add the store link.

Re: website ultimate dummy new [re: sarah]

Sarah,

Yes it matters.. Everything in the description field is displayed. But it is easily fixed. Just edit your listing template and add all the payment terms etc in the footer area. Then all that will show is the description.

All you have to do is copy and paste everything that is not the actual description into the footer area of the Listing template you are using..

Now all existing active listings will not be "fixed" until they come offline. The next time you list, they will be corrected.

The logo stuff,, copy and paste it into the header area of your Listing template. Then all will be well.

See if that helps...

Re: website ultimate dummy new [re: sarah]

Sarah,

Hummm,,, I wondered because I looked at the source code and it looked like it was all in HTML..

It is going to be a challenge to get it to display on your website like you want it because everything is written in HTML. Each individual thumbnail page is going to display the whole shabang..

By the way,,, you are not a pest at all I don't mind helping you..

Re: website ultimate dummy new [re: bluepennylady]

well, i must say your patience is beYond normal. the problem with me is that I just get so determined to do it. I suppose I could add some to the html (which goes on the left side), if I only knew what code to use to keep the text to the right..because it will either go to the left where the photos and logo are or below centered with the other stuff. I really want it visible and ready read along side the pics though. If you cant help me today I understand..your a gem and i have a miled case of poor retentive disorder..lol

Re: website ultimate dummy new [re: sarah]

Sarah,

Thanks! I don't mind helping you at all. I think it is fun.. And I LOVE a challenge....

What is it you want to add to the HTML? I don't understand what you are wanting to add...

I can help you get the text to the right but I don't have it in my head what text you want right... Do you mean you want the description to go to the right of the images lined right up next to them?

Who is writing the HTML for your description?
