Your camera setting should be set to the absolute highest possible resolution. And if you need a close up of an item or part of an item/product., don't use the zoom.. Instead you get the object focused in the camera and then move forward until you can get the closest possible shot without using the zoom feature.
The images would be larger than the 300 x 300 depending on what you increase the size to. Just keep in mind, it can take longer for high resolution big images to load into someone's browser. That is why it is so important to have more than one shot and take several close up shots of the item.
Hopefully, Garry will drop by with his image expertise. He is a photo whiz and a half. Use to work for a company and he dealt with images every single day. so he is really good at it. I pick the poor man's brain about image ideas all of the time.
Geez I wonder if he is losing his hair because of that!!
