HI,
Been there done that an dit is fixable Usually simple computer maintenance will fix it.
So let's clean up your computer. If I am providing info you already know, well, I am sorry First do a disk cleanup. go to "start | My Computer (Computer on Vista) Right click on the " C" drive and select "Properties" from the pop up menu.
When the applet opens the first tab is "General: It is there you can perform the disk cleanup. If you have not done it for awhile, it may take quite a bit of time. Let it work. When the files to clean up appear, get rid of the Recycle bin, all the internet temp files. Don't do anything with Office setup files. those files allow Office to do updates. You can get rid of compressed files too if you want. Then click OK and yes, let it work.
Next --click the "Tools" tab That accesses the two next utilities you need. First do a hard drive scan. For this time select both options: Automatically fix file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt bad sectors" Click OK or Yes on the warning that appears and restart your computer. Let it work. It might take a hour to scan the hard drive.
After the scan, defrag your computer. The defrag is right underneath the error checking. So access it the same way as you did before.
See if that helps. And let us all know.
