How are HTML Templates used?

Auction Wizard 2000 uses HTML Templates to create stylized listings for your auctions, and optional websites to advertise them.

An HTML Template is basically a "mail merge" document that contains the entire layout for a web page or auction site listing, but without any specific Auction Lot data or images.

Special "tags" in the HTML template tell Auction Wizard 2000 where to put information from the Auction Lot database (things like item Descriptions and images). When you list an item for sale on an auction site (or generate a website) these tags are replaced with the appropriate data and images from the Auction Lot database to create the final "look" of your listings or web pages.

Auction Wizard 2000 uses three different types of HTML Templates:

1. Listing Templates (to create auction site listings);
2. Thumbnail Page Templates (for websites to advertise your auctions); and
3. Lot Page Templates (to display full-sized images of all the merchandise included on your website).

See the Auction Wizard 2000 Help Index under the HTML Templates, HTML Template Editor and HTML Template Manager topics for details on how to use, construct, edit and manage your customized HTML Templates.
