Sue,
As far as the Read of address violations, Have you restarted your computer? Usually a restart will correct the address violations. It won't hurt to do an Error check using "Automatically fix file system errors". That never hurts.
If the Read of Address violation continues let me know.
The settings etc can be maintained when moving AW2000 from one machine to another by copying the entire Aw2000 folder from the root of the C drive to the root of the C drive on the new computer. You can right click on the AW2000 folder (C:\AW2000) and select copy. You can put that copy on any removable media,, DVD, jump drive, external hard drive. Then move the copy to the root of the C drive on the new computer.
Then, download the new AW2000 install right on top of the copy. That way you get the newest AW2K version and yet retain all your settings.
Then you can restore the newest backup if needed. I make a copy of the entire AW2000 folder about every other day. And just a backup every day.
I hope that makes at least some kind of sense. If not, let me know and I will try again
