When I create an inventory item, I assign it a "reference ID" that tells me my source for that item. Usually I use a three digit number, but some of them are names. Then I can look at the "Profit Report by Reference ID" and see how much money I've brought in from each purchase.

But on one item I goofed, and a book that should be Reference ID "Crowder" was given Reference ID "007". I just caught this error earlier this evening.

How do I fix this, five months after the sale? I tried going back to the original inventory item and changing the Reference ID, and also changed it in the auction lot. But the info on the profit report didn't change to reflect my corrections. So I backed up, then rebuilt the database. Still no change on the profit report.

What do I do next, or do I just have to live with this goof?
