Final Auction Lot Preview

I am new to AW2000 so bear with me. I would like to preview my final auction lot before sending the listing to Ebay. I can't find a way to do that. I want to preview the entire auction page with all the Ebay information as well as my auction listing template. In other words I want to see the final product on Ebay's site before I send the listing. Other listing software has provided a way to do that. Does one exist for AW2000? Thanks, in advance, for any help!

Hi,

Welcome!! It is so nice to meet you. And welcome to AW2000. You will love AW2000. And AW2000 has provided a way for you to Preview your final listing page. IN fact, you can preview the auction lot anytime regardless of whether it is listed or not. Now how cool is that!

In the Auction lot window/tab, directly below the Auction description, you will see the button "Preview template" Click that button. The auction will load for viewing in your browser.

When the auction is live (that is called "online" in AW2000)...look to the left of the Auction title, There is a little blue world. Click that world and the listing on eBay appears in your browser. That is cool because if you have staff that needs to see the listing for any reason they can do so without having access to My eBay or having to go directly to eBay. Just click the "blue world" and the listing pops up.

The same "blue world" shows up in the Invoices too. So you can click on any Invoice Item, then click on the "blue world" and the auction listing will pull up in your browser.

Does that help??

Judy,
Thanks for a quick response but I have used the preview template and it worked fine. Unfortunately it does not give me the full Ebay listing display that I am looking for. I want to see the completed final layout as a potential buyer will see it on an Ebay listing. The template preview only gives you a partial listing preview. I also use the final full listing page preview as a check and balance before sending my listings. Does my description make sense to you. I am afraid I'm not explaining it very well?
Thanks,
John

John,

No worries. You are explaining just fine. I am tracking with you 100%. I am sorry I didn't get back to you right away. Have been loading and unloading trucks all morning, then getting the construction crew off to Dallas for the HazMat school. What a morning!!

You have the ability to view the listing template. The eBay listing information which surrounds your AW2K listing template is static and does not change. The only information which you have control over the arrangement etc is what is inside the Listing template itself, hence that is what appears in a Preview.

Does that explain it better?

I guess the only way to see the final product is to actually list a test auction and pay the listing fees. This will allow me to see if everything is set up correctly. Then I will have to cancel the auction early before anyone bids on it! Thanks for the info. but I think it told me what I already knew!

Hi,

Before you do that, perhaps if you might tell me what it is you are looking for? The static information provided by eBay such as the Preview image is the first image you upload by default, unless you change that setting. So in the Listing template preview, the first image displayed is the Preview image. And all your seller information on the right hand side of the Preview is nothing that can be changed.

Naturally the auction description is whatever you have entered in as it is with the Auction title, sub-title (if you used that) and the categor(ies).

Shipping options are defined in the shipping options area and are uploaded when you list,,, just like it is when you use the Sell Your Item form.

Short of an error in the description or maybe your item getting broken, etc there shouldn't be a need to end a listing.
